I keep pointing out that the media could do a LOT to end this nonsense, but they haven’t.
The big excuse of “honor killing” is that it harms the honor of the family. This turns the victim into the villain.
What the media could do is turn this around, so that the real villain is held up as someone “who destroyed his families’ honor”, by murdering a “virtuous innocent”. And they did it because they have black, evil hearts, and should be scored and despised by all good people.
At the same time they should hold up the victim as the best, most honorable member of the family, and really put her up on a pedestal.
It should not be subtle at all. The murderer’s least flattering picture should be darkened, and its caption should imply that he is unclean, and should be shunned by the community and forgotten. That he is a lowly person and a shame to his family and mosque.
Now we have to feed him for the rest of his life. Drop him off over Iran without a parachute.
