Tahani Mansour's future seemed promising: The 27-year-old had a doctoral degree in pharmacy and had just been hired as a clinical pharmacist at the renowned Cleveland Clinic.
But her dreams were cut short on Sept. 27, when her father fired three rounds at her from a .38-caliber revolver while she was inside her bedroom at the family's suburban Cleveland home. Police said she was shot twice in the head.

I guess this was an Amish family.
Honor killing?
CC
These are the clues that lead me to believe that it is indeed an honor killing.
Tahani Mansoor. Sounds Lithuanian to me.
It could just be that no one has said it is an honor killing. That would be a reason for not stating that in the article, but they certainly provided enough to lead one to form that opinion. If that is the case then I see that as honest reporting of just the facts known at that time to the reporter.
“I guess this was an Amish family.”
Yeah, wide-brimmed hats, buggies and all.
If the story weren't so tragic, these efforts would be laughable.
Family matter - police, media and government dare not inquire.
Honor killing?
You have to read 30 paragraphs to get to anything hinting at it. The father was born in Jordan that daughter was living the life of an American citizen
This article reads like total lie as and propaganda. Send this guy back to Jordan where he prefers the culture.
He needs to be tried and convicted of murder since he’s living within our borders and our laws apply to everyone, regardless of what evil cult they claim membership to. Does the death penalty apply in that state? He really should be room temperature.
MOHAMMEDAN? MUSLIM????
A PharmD is a 6 to 7 year education investment. What a waste.
Sharia thinking, there.
I keep pointing out that the media could do a LOT to end this nonsense, but they haven’t.
The big excuse of “honor killing” is that it harms the honor of the family. This turns the victim into the villain.
What the media could do is turn this around, so that the real villain is held up as someone “who destroyed his families’ honor”, by murdering a “virtuous innocent”. And they did it because they have black, evil hearts, and should be scored and despised by all good people.
At the same time they should hold up the victim as the best, most honorable member of the family, and really put her up on a pedestal.
It should not be subtle at all. The murderer’s least flattering picture should be darkened, and its caption should imply that he is unclean, and should be shunned by the community and forgotten. That he is a lowly person and a shame to his family and mosque.
Now we have to feed him for the rest of his life. Drop him off over Iran without a parachute.
Honor killing? Maybe not. Consider: He probably practices the religion of peace, and decided to provide her an immediate path to eternal peace.
Fire up the sarc meter.
oh blechh THis article reads like a new Yorker profile of a typical family
Death penalty. right. No he is exempt from American law
