Good article. I hear libs spewing the hate spoken about regarding us being racists, uneducated, etc. but I also know minorities that are secretly voting for Trump. Not many, but they are there. I also know highly educated people that are voting for Trump. My belief is that the talk about all of us being uneducated is a ploy to embarrass people into not voting for Trump. They are trying to mess with our heads. Liberals also have a huge superiority complex.

IMO, all this is doing is creating a lot of closet Trump supporters, at least I hope that is what is going on.

Good post, but contains liberal b.s. Bush did not cause economic collapse, merely did not mitigate it well; democrats supported foreign wars.

Excuse me but it was bill clinton who set the country up for the huge fallout that happened with the housing crisis.

Dumb democrats who do not know the end results of their dumb decisions.

Hillary is not going to build the wall. She is going to bury any opposition of the Rat Progressive dream once and for all in a human wave of immigration and legalization of the illegals already here.

We’re not rube hayseeds out here voting For Trump. The author is right when he says this is an FU vote to the status quo a la the establishment of both parties. He also says it is a major gamble on our part voting for Trump. Really? Hillary with promised IOUs of national security and trade secrets to some bad people if she’s able to cheat her way to the White House is rolling snake eyes and sure doom for the nation.

... why she’s been swept up in Donald Trump’s particular brand of right-wing populism ...

.. as opposed to left-wing populism, like 'free' Obamaphones.

This is what jumped out the most -

She told me, “It doesn’t matter what she says. It matters what she’s done.”

I think this is key and Trump did hammer on that in the first debate. What has she done for the last 30 years? And she is still spouting the same old Marxist rhetoric.

Right-wing populism is an awful thing.

Well, I suppose it is, if you're a baby-killing, child-molester faggot democRAT....raping the taxpayers and riding the statist gravy train.

“This is not a person who is stupid or racist. She knows Bush caused the economy collapse with his irresponsible tax policies and wars.”

A Dem talking point which is ipso facto incorrect.

Congress sets tax and spending policy not the president. The Dems took Congress in Jan 2007. It was their mortgage lending policies which caused the housing crisis. It was their 2007 budget and polices that brought the economy down.

"It isn’t xenophobia or racism, it’s a vote against the status quo and the way they’ve strip mined and destroyed this country. It’s a FU vote and a major gamble, but it’s not as irrational or hateful as you might think."

1st of all, one correction, it wasn't the Bush/Bank collapse. Notice, no mention of Fanny & Freddie, The CRDA, Raines, Gorelick, and the whole fakata carnival that was Fannie and Freddie and Barney Frank covering for them amongst others like Maxine Waters, but let that go....

It hit me working on a campaign in 2010, and my question was why isn't the Tea Party focusing it's ire at K-Street, the source of all this madness IMHO. Now the FU noted is pointed at K-Street and all of DC.

I wasn't crazy after all, or this writer found my old post...

On my drive in, I listened to NPR. They were doing an “interview a voter before and after the debate” schtick. The guy they interviewed (Ohio voter) was union blue collar. He’s always voted democrat, his parents and grandparents voted democrat. The union always told them to vote democrat. He voted for Obama twice.

He’s voting for Trump this time.

This is something I noticed in 2015, when I was a nevertrumper: That Trumps message will ring true with a LOT of democrats, and especially Bernie supporters. It’s why I took issue with Michael Medved at the time. His take was we didn’t want trump because he could not win. My take was that he would get a LOT more democrat and independent votes because he was hitting people at an emotional level and he was sort of an enemy to the R party. That actually gives the disgruntled democrats “permission” to vote for him.

No, she IS a stupid person if she believes Bush caused the economic collapse with his wars and tax policies.

Notice how this incredibly false narrative has seeped into Dem propaganda about Bush causing the economic collapse with his tax policies?

Taxes weren’t a factor in the collapse at all. Going along with and increasing Bill Clinton’s pushing of Fannie and Freddie to buy and process gazillions of bad loans? Yes, that was a factor. But tax policy? Not a whit.

Tangent to this, the Q & A w/ Ann Coulter in Vanity Fair. Maybe her gut was telling her ( like it did mine see link below ) that our "vaulted 16" wasn't so vaulted after all. Perhaps this Landscaper in OH on hard times wouldn't have wanted one of the 16 either...

"Did you support any other candidates in the field?

I hated them all.

All of them?

I hated them all. And in fact, I think Trump saved my life, because looking at that field of candidates, I mean, I was hoping that Mitt Romney was going to get in. He was the best on immigration and, you know, a respectable person. He was good on China and their currency manipulation, and he was the best that we have ever had until Trump. But without him in the race, I just thought, “I can’t do this. I can’t defend any of these guys. I am not going to go on TV and pretend that any of them are going to be better than any Democrat.” And you know, I have always wanted to learn French, so I figured that I would just go to France for 2016 and skip the election year, hang out, learn French. And I happen to love Eagles of Death Metal, so I totally would have been at that concert, except Trump ran so I couldn’t leave."
