Kaine and Pence’s Rumble
American Thinker ^ | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 10/05/2016 5:42:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

It did not go well for Tim Kaine. He was seriously outgunned by his own determination to not have an actual debate but to get in as many scripted hit lines as possible. He could not stop interrupting Pence, over and over again. He vacillated between looking like a deer in headlights or Howdy Doody, with a silly grin on his face.

But his interruptions were the key to his failure. When one cannot let the person with whom he is debating complete a sentence, it betrays fear and a lack of confidence in one's own position or cause. Kaine lost the debate, hands down. Not because everything he had to say was wrong but because he was so afraid he might not get to utter every insult he had practiced. It was pathetic.

Kaine's debate prep, like Hillary's, was based on the firm belief that the American people are stupid. Democrats have contempt for everyone outside of the beltway or their donor class. Did they really think that whoever tuned in tonight was not up on what each of the candidates has said in the past? It is a given that the people interested enough to watch a ninety-minute vice-presidential debate are familiar with who said what, how their words and deeds have been reported, what their positions in the past and present were and are.

VP debate watchers are watching for substance and on alert for guile, glibness and smarm. Kaine won on those points. Pence won on substance, calm and authenticity.

Thank you for that. Something untrustworthy about a guy who smiles like that. I obviously don’t know him personally, but his demeanor screams the following to me: gay, untrustworthy, holier than thou elitist, drama queen.

This is the guy who would see Grandma’s car by the side of the road, with Grandpa standing in the rain trying to change a tire - and flip them the bird as he drove by because he had to drive around those a-holes. “Call the auto club you jackasses, how dare you make me late for the sierra club mixer!”

He is a Democratic hack, who has hitched his future to a morally bankrupt ideology. That would make anyone come off as creepy and his resemblance to Jack Nickelson doesn’t help. Appearances always matter in high stakes politics, Hillary should have chosen someone better looking.

Yes, Putin is a better leader for his country than BO is for ours. (I wish it weren’t true, too, but it is).

***************
One is strong and one is weak. There’s no need to spend much time differentiating who is who in that regard. We will eventually see which leader has the better legacy.

I think Mr. Putin has a parting “gift” for Obama in the form of a Syria related military incident. Putin knows Obama is unlikely to respond to any provocation, especially in the waning hours of his so-called presidency. Weakness invites aggression; always has, always will.

Hillary should have chosen someone better looking.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Like BO needs to be the ‘smartest’ person on the ticket (WE end up with the likes of Biden, JF’nK & HRC etc etc)

HRC needs to be the ‘smartest’ AND the ‘best lookin’...

When you start off as the dumbest and aren’t all that eye-pleasing, just imagine what WE end up with.

Per Wikipedia, Kaine was on his high school debate team...

Ironic.

I agree with your comments. Gives us all a peek into who Trump will surround himself with as President.

Pence was calm, assertive, in control, and in possession of the facts, and came across as one who would keep the country safe. Which one do you feel comfortable with leading the country, should the need arise? Which one would provide steady guidance to the leader of the free world? Pence or Kaine?

I know my answer.

Kaine’s IQ looked low. I haven’t paid any attention to him up to now, so I don’t know if he’s smart or not, but last night he appeared to have a dim bulb. His effeminate mannerisms didn’t help.

Alas, a decent bet.

As H.L. Mencken said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

A missed opportunity for Pence was when Kaine mentioned the New Start treaty as being something good for this country.

-It was a disaster for this country.; New Start does not even mention the tactical nuclear weapons that Russia now has a 10 to 1 advantage in, which should have been addressed in the treaty. This tactical nuclear advantage is now a Russian superiority, and directly threatens our allies.

On top of the tactical nuclear omission from the treaty, the verification of the treaty is weak, and not as verifiable as previous treaties regarding nuclear weapons.

Since that treaty has been signed, the US has declined in numbers to below the 1550 strategic weapon limit, while Russia has in fact INCREASED from several hundred fewer than we had at the time the treaty was signed, to now over 1800 countable warheads, way above the 1550 that is suppose to be in effect by 2017,,, if the Russians don’t decide to withdraw from the treaty at that time and upload to a strategic superiority as well. http://russianforces.org

And Hillary is now on the record as opposing the replacement of the nuclear cruise missile arming our bombers, which will require our bombers to penetrate the best air defense system in the world around Russia in order to provide a deterrent with just gravity bombs...

All of Russia’s bombers are missile armed, and with new designs. Russia continues to design and build new and modern strategic and tactical nuclear weapons, while we depend on a shrinking weapons stockpile that dates back 30 to almost 60 years in the case of the B-52.

We are NOT safer than we were when Obama and Hillary took control.
