Pence wins despite another 'Candy' debate moderator
American Thinker ^ | October 5, 2016 | J. Marsolo

Elaine Quijano continued the Candy Crowley debate tradition of favoring the Democrat. She constantly interrupted Mike Pence while he was attempting to answer questions but never interrupted Kaine to have him focus on what had been asked of him. She failed to control the debate by allowing Kaine to constantly interrupt Pence.

Despite this, Pence clearly won the debate both in style and in content.

Quijano allowed Kaine to constantly interrupt Pence, but when Pence tried to correct Kaine, then Quijano jumped in to tell Pence to let Kaine finish. When Kaine interrupted Pence, she also interrupted Pence, so both Kaine and Quijano were talking over Pence's answer.

Like Holt the moderater worked with the Democrat to tag team the Republican. It was two against one. Like Trump, Kaine won anyway.

Why, oh why, do Republicans allow these liberal moderators? Especially those who don’t have command of the debate, and the Lester Holts and Candy Crowleys of the world who tilt the debate to the leftist candidate.

Why does the GOP do this?

Suppose they just say . . . “we will debate. Mark Steyn is the moderator. Let us know.”

Republicans are crazy if they ever participate in election year debates again.

I don’t think Kaine won. I thought Pence was far and away the winner.

The real story should be, even with a biased, interfering moderator, the Democrats can barely win the debate against the Republican, if they actually win. I don’t think I heard Pence answer a single question that the token moderator didn’t interrupt, and he still made better points than Kaine.

I do suspect this is the last time. The MSM has become so despised the next cycle debates will be hosted by FreeRepublic, Breitbart, and WND. Let them deal with our mods for a change.

Interesting comments from a college student who watched the debate. Her takeaways: Kaine has no problem breaking the (debate) rules to attack an opponent and lying viciously is the preferred method. Pence is a gentleman, even at the expense of missed opportunities to drive home points. The ‘moderator’ is in the camp of the democrats. From the very start, Pence spoke directly from the heart to the American people. Kaine had a laundry list of canned phrases that were oft repeated in lieu of answers of substance. Windows of the souls were opened for inspection and the difference between the two factions could not have been more clear.

Hopefully Trump took some pointers from this debate style. If he does like Pence did in this debate, landslide baby!!!

“Quijano allowed Kaine to constantly interrupt Pence, but when Pence tried to correct Kaine, then Quijano jumped in to tell Pence to let Kaine finish.”

I know. When I saw/heard her do that, I hollered at my TV calling her a word that begins with the letter ‘c’.

As a Virginia resident for nearly 30 years I can tell you Kaine did nothing whatsoever for our statue UNLESS you lived in the rich and populous areas of Richmond or the east coast. There the schools had millions of dollars funneled in, but here in poor south-western Virginia? We just got poorer and watched our manufacturing go overseas, to Mexico, and who knows where. Just know it didn’t stay HERE!
