Trump Tax Records Obtained by The Times Reveal He Could Have Avoided Paying Taxes [more]
The New York Times ^ | OCT. 1, 2016 | By DAVID BARSTOW, SUSANNE CRAIG, RUSS BUETTNER and MEGAN TWOHEY

Donald J. Trump declared a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, a tax deduction so substantial it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years, records obtained by The New York Times show.

The 1995 tax records, never before disclosed, reveal the extraordinary tax benefits that Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, derived from the financial wreckage he left behind in the early 1990s through mismanagement of three Atlantic City casinos, his ill-fated foray into the airline business and his ill-timed purchase of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.

Tax experts hired by The Times to analyze Mr. Trump’s 1995 records said tax rules that are especially advantageous to wealthy filers would have allowed Mr. Trump to use his $916 million loss to cancel out an equivalent amount of taxable income over an 18-year period.

Exactly. Keep HER on defense.

What does Trump’s tax returns have to do with Hillary’s lies??

And??

Exactly.

But the left is losing its collective mind with joy over this. "Someone" mailed it to the New York Times, apparently, randomly.

Whatever.

The left is nothing but vile demons, but we need to know the agenda they've schemed up for the coming week.

May be the NYT can hire experts to find Hillary’s deleted emails while under subpoena, then explain how the deletions are not obstructing justice, then explain the immunities without the formation of a grand jury, then explain why so many people are put in jail for doing a tenth of what Hillary did, etc.

The three documents arrived by mail at The Times with a postmark indicating they had been sent from New York City. The return address claimed the envelope had been sent from Trump Tower.

1995

Let's see, 1995. Oh yeah, about the time Hillary was lying about her Cattle Futures insider trading, Vince Foster's murder, firing the WH travel staff, hiring Craig Livingstone, illegally accessing FBI files, and trashing Paula Jones, plus getting ready to trash Monica Lewinski.

But you're right NY Times, Trump's legitimate net loss on his tax return in 1995 is BIG news!

Amazing how the Left completely discounts someone actually creating thousands of jobs and billions of dollars of new value pumped into the economy, but use tax law as intended to mitigate his tax liability.
... vs also discounting plainly criminal, even treasonous, behavior - including abetting rape and sale of government secrets.

Yet, Donald Trump trying to determine if Obama was constitutionally eligible makes him a racist.

The HuffPo linked story is from April, 2008 but it is interesting that she was complaining of smoke inhalation and, keep in mind, Hillary was running for president in the spring of 2008. Curious why something as personal as a tax return would happen to be in Terre Haute, IN and not, say, Arkansas or New York or Washington. Could it have been planted so as to be destroyed in the fire?

What we know: Trump’s last ten years of tax returns are being audited by the IRS. Whatever allowed by law will have their stamp of approval when they are done. The “gold standard” of tax auditing!

Who committed a felony by releasing Trump’s tax return and how did the New York Times cooperate with it?

I wonder if the tax reforms passed by the GOP after they swept both Houses of Congress in 1994 had a lot to do with this. I’ve seen similar stories of real estate investors reporting financial disasters (on paper, at least) in 1987 after the 1986 tax reform completely changed the rules on how they reported income, capital gains, etc.

I we are going to go back to 1995, then that opens the door to all kinds of Clinton crimes and misdeeds! This is good news!

Also, if Trump did anything illegal with his taxes in 1995, the IRS would have long ago given him the Leona Helmsley treatment.

Regarding taxes paid by all taxpayers including Trump, since the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress spends taxpayer dollars for many things that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers, a large chuck of the taxes that citizens pay are unconstitutional anyway.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Remember in November !

Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trump’s vision for making America great again for everybody, but will also put a stop to unconstitutonal federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional inteference in state affairs.

Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
