Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, and we await the long anticipated sharp turn northward. Jamaica is completing final storm preparations. All interests in the Eastern U.S. and Bahamas should be carefully watching the track of Mighty Matthew.
Ripped straight from the NHC Discussion page:
Matthew remains south of a low-to mid-level ridge over
the western Atlantic. The dynamical models forecast this ridge to
weaken over the next 72 hours as a mid- to upper-level trough develops
over the Gulf of Mexico. This evolution should cause Matthew to turn
northwestward after 24 hours and northward by 48-72 hours. The guidance
generally agrees with this scenario. However, there is a spread between
the GFS forecast of landfall in Jamaica and eastern Cuba and the ECMWF
forecast landfall in southwestern Haiti. The guidance becomes more
divergent after 72 hours.

Great map of winds.
He regularly tweets what people need to be paying attention to with the storm or other emergency situations. Seems to be truly compassionate person.
A guy in twitter is trying to find out what wind speed or watch/warning level should be shutter his windows? Anyone have a guide for that? Google just gives a lot of companies selling shutters, no real guideline.
Anyone watching The Weather Channel amused with the cheesy set for their Weather Underground program? Ridiculous pandering to millennials! It’s hard to take them seriously with the “bar” set up.
a) storm seasoned neighbors are putting up shutters, and/or
b) if you or your neighbors have left potential projectiles in the yard, and/or
c) if you have tree limbs close to your dwelling.
We have a puppy coming to us from Kansas City on Saturday. I am very concerned.
This is a huge outrage for the Haitian people--the Clintons who are supposed to be such friends of black people when in reality they screw them worse than anyone else.!
So for several days the Haitians will take a pounding from hurricane Matthew that no matter how bad it is it's worse for having had to deal with the thieving Clintons and their corrupt foundation which robbed them blind and undoubtedly will kill an unknown number of Haitians who otherwise would be saved with just a little bit of infrastructure. Building in Haiti is much easier due to less bureaucracy and they have infinite cheap labor with lots of natural resources.
We need more info on storm surge since that can do an enormous amount of damage,its hard info to get.
There was a tremendous amount of damage back then from all those storms, they never stopped.
what type of anchorage do you have?
