You touched on something there. This could also be a game inside a game that the SHrillary team was doing.
Since NBC and Lester Holt were already working hand and foot with SHrillary where she knew all the questions and how she would answer them, and all the negative questions that Holt would throw at Trump days before, so they put on this show before the cameras to make paint Trump the “consiracy nut”. It’s still a rigging.
I have no doubt Hellary still uses electronic devices to get an edge and was called out earlier with one during Commander-in-Chief forum. Of course they denied it.

Lesson for Trump:
Don’t rely on the liberal moderators to be fair. They’re not going to be. It’s up to YOU MR. TRUMP, to bring up the unsecured server, Libya, Benghazi, pay-for-play and all the rest and to hammer Hillary with these.

Reagan, G. W. Bush, and Obama all had bad debates and came back strong the next time. Trump needs to stop replaying this one, learn from it, and prepare for the next one.
Sadly, Lester Holt could care less, even sadder, James Comey could care less. They are doing it openly and defiantly. So what is it that these people are willing to sell their professional reputations for? Money? Job security? I think it is much deeper and far more sinister, I think it is a takeover of this country. They are at the finish line and have pulled out all the stops.
I think Trump said that during the debate when the AH moderator argued with him about whether he supported the Iraq invasion. Trump said you got your facts checked by the clinton campaign or some such comment. IOW, they fed him the question to ask.
I have never understood why we have these debates? We get jobbed every time. Given he was fighting both the mod and Cackles, it was two on one yet he still did credibly. Next time whatever the question, he should just go into a monologue and bring up every piece of crap on her and dump it right on the stage. When she tries to poo poo it, like, well, I admitted I made a mistake, he has to come right back and point out every one in prison says the same thing, the mistake is they got caught which you did not have to worry about given the administration decided to not use a special prosecutor.
I’m glad you two posted links to the podium powering up/down. I was preparing to find and post them myself.
The important thing for others to note is that the same location on Trump’s podium never lit up. If that light was glare from overhead lights, then her shadow in video would have changed position, and Trump’s podium would have glowed as well.
She requested a customized podium, and it looks like she got an extra special one.
Excellent video but it doesn’t show the next, even WORSE meeting - a few minutes later, Mr. Cleaner and the green dress woman and Bill hover around Hillary’s podium, their backs to the camera, blocking it from view but doing something back there. A rectangular thing is taken out. If only this video tweet had continued with that one last one. It looks so dirty.

Wouldn’t it have been fun if a Trump rep. showed up with a dolly right after the debate and wheeled off Hillary’s specially built podium for inspection. Too late, now, but maybe next time.
