I enjoy Star Trek as ENTERTAINMENT! Like all entertainment, it is a pleasant distraction from everyday cares. So, as much as I like it, and even with Madonna’s disrobed appeal, NOT BUYING your koolaid!

I’m just going to watch it on PPV, like I did the last one-for $3.50 I can watch it as many times as I want in 24 hrs, make my own popcorn and have a glass of wine or a beer if I want-works for me...

That’s OK. She can have those clowns.

Our guy has generals, admirals, and other ranks supporting him.

I’ll take that any day of the week.

Outside of Abrams, has anyone ever heard of any of these people and why would I care what they say anyway?

“But with him at least, after 40-45 years watching the AGS, not having any idea before that how he was in real life, it came as a big surprise and disappointment to me.”

It’s called really GOOD acting ;-)

“Leslie Parrish”
Her best part was of alcoholic Ev from The Giant Spider Invasion.

Mike and the bots ripped into her pretty good on MST3K

Having met a good number of the Trek actors and actresses (over 22 on the list alone), I found most of them to be very nice and friendly people. Only George Takei talked about his political work with BART (California) and Democrat Party politics. He was polite and pretty much stuck to facts and issues. I think he has gotten a little more set-in-his-ways as he got older. So be it.

A few I knew were liberals based on our conversations but they were respectful, thoughtful and polite.

The professional industry pressure on Trek cast members had to be tremendous, esp. if Takei was leading the anti-Trump charge, so some had to sign on just to survive a new Leftist Hollywood/Entertainment industry “Blacklist”.

I am upset that several of my secret Star Trek “crushes” signed on to this list. However, they were very nice to me in terms of signing photos or just in having various conversations.

I can say that only 3-4 of those I met (3 of whom are on this list, one deceased), struck me as either “Don’t bother me kid” or very self-absorbed. That’s not bad out of over 22 I’ve met.

As for the new Star Trek cast, too young to know what the hell is going on in this world. Also, the movies are getting too PC, those losing the delicate touch that Gene Roddenberry had in introducing controversial topics/people in the original ST shows.

Fortunately I only need a couple additional autographs to finish out my Star Trek collection. I do appreciate the kindness of those I met and talked with. It was fun and they were funnier than most people would think.

However, my granddaughter is a Star Wars fan and all my autographs, cards, etc. go to her when she is a little older. Of the few actors I met from the original SW series, I found them all to be very nice people and again, lots of fun to talk too (Kenny Baker, Jerry Bullock, David Prowse and Peter Mayhew).

To all, however, regardless of politics, “thanks for the memories”.

Now on to “The Walking Dead”. Rick, wait for me!!

He already did an Andy of Mayberry against John McCain—along with Ron Howard.

But Ronny's little brother, Clint Howard, is a conservative.

#177 re your question as to “what season and show were the 2 Nimoys on?

Perhaps crewmen on “20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea”, 30th remake.

I don’t think their father would approve of this.

““Kate Mulgrew”

That voice! Arrrgh!””

I only made it through the first season of Voyager when it aired. It was horrible. I never understood why they chose *her* for that role. From what I understand, they wanted Genevive Bujold to be the captain (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SIZcDWKyw0 if you’re interested in how that might have turned out).

While Bujold was certainly miscast for that role, someone similar in looks with some passion for the role would have been quite interesting. The selection of the woman that sounds like Yoda on helium had me baffled.

I eagerly watched any episode that had “Seven of Nine” in the synopsis on Netflix. If they wouldn’t have added that work of art known as Jeri Ryan, that show would have been DOA after it’s 4th season.

I love PC Trekkers. They scream and yell “SEXISM” yet don’t seem to mind that some attractive, curvy woman in a bodysuit is a key member of the bridge from STTNG on forward.
