Saudi Threatens 'Dire Implications' Over U.S. Law Allowing 9/11 Victims to Sue

Saudi Arabia could reduce valuable security and intelligence cooperation with longstanding ally Washington after a Congressional “stab in the back” allowing 9/11 victims to sue the kingdom, experts warn.

Cutting such cooperation is among the options available to Riyadh after Congress voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to override President Barack Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA).

“I’m afraid that this bill will have dire strategic implications” for the United States, Salman al-Ansari, the president of the Saudi American Public Relation Affairs Committee (SAPRAC), told AFP.

I love the sound of Saudis squealing in the morning. Sounds like victory.

“Do not threaten us Saudi Arabia. This American would have zero problem with a U.S. invasion of your country and seizing all of your assets and creating a forward base within the Middle East. The rest would fall into our control very quickly.”

Just make an announcement to all of the foreign contractors that we are invading, that we will continue to pay them, with a 20k bonus if they stay, and $10 million for the head of the Saudi King, $2 million for the head of any Saudi royal, and 5k for the head of any Saudi citizen - no questions asked. Also off any expat that stays citizenship in the protectorate (not territory) of New Texas. Cakewalk.

They’ll do what? Cut off oil to the US? They need us WAY more than we need them.

What’re the Saudis gonna do, send more terrorists over to fly planes into our buildings? Go ahead, then we turn Mecca, along with the Kaaba, into a smoking hole!

“Assuming that the Saudi government doesn’t have any property in this country that’s not protected by “diplomatic immunity” they don’t have any real problem.”

Unfortunately, they do have a lot of property here that isn’t covered by any immunity from seizure of any kind. For me, seeing Saudi Arabia as a glowing pile of nuclear rubble would be the best day of my life! Two ground zeroes, Mecca and Medina.

That's a foolish reaction. All the Saudis need to do is not show up for any scheduled court date, have a summary judgment made against them and then refuse to pay the judgment.Assuming that the Saudi government doesn't have any property in this country that's not protected by "diplomatic immunity" they don't have any real problem.

I agree. One would think they would just ignore the congressional law as they will never pay anything outright. However I believe their assets in our country could be seized and I suspect that is their greater concern.

Me too.

Wonder which "small town" they have on their To-Do list.

He said Saudi officials are probably debating whether to act now or “wait until the first suit is filed in some small town in America”.

You know, the law IS a really bad idea, and vetoing it was the correct thing to do...

BUT

As H. L. Mencken said, “Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.”

F*** ‘em.

Nothing I’d like more than dropping one on that satanic rock over there. These turds have been funding and spreading their wahhabist Islam around the world building mosques etc.

I say we should send the Moon Rocks back where they came from. It would be a sustainability action.

If my old arthritic finger was on the red button, I would have nuked these camel humpers on 9-12-2001. But, as fortune would have it, I was in court that day, providing a victim impact statement against a convicted child molester who is one strike away from doing life in da big house.

I think your comment....’nothing to do with 9-11’ is the pointed end of the stick. They know just how far their people reached in and poked the US, and they kept thinking that this day would never come. So, cutting us off from the oil? Seems like we made best friends out of Iran, and with the oil sands of Canada and fracking....we don’t have a problem.

Should they want to sell off the US debt and dump it? Fine...the value will quickly decrease on the debt papers and the Saudis lose tons of value.

The Saudi islamonazi dictatorship finances and organizes hundreds of the most rabidly anti- American, anti- Christian “mosques” -and terrorist recruiting around the world - including many in USA - they’re extremely dangerous because they’ve bought their way into our local communities and the highest levels of “our” government too.

Sure. They are going to sell our bonds.

Good luck with that. The way things are going they will be lucky to get 25 cents on the dollar.
