My second though was : So what - BFD
Years ago I had a room mate once who was putting a Corvette engine into a 1984 Volvo sedan.
I still cannot wrap my brain around the “why” of that.
He said there was only 1 person in all of America who understood and could help with mating the two disparate things.
Yep, many of us did. In ‘82 I took a ‘74 Volvo 164E to 120 (the fastest it could go) and kept up that speed for an hour. Palm Desert to L.A. Middle of the night. Amazing I didn’t get caught. Same age as the guy in the story. Youngins will be youngins.
No way a Dodge Neon went that fast.
Michael Gahagan, the chief of police in Carabou, Maine along with other chiefs of police in Maine, have come out in favor of Question 3, more gun control for Maine.
In his ad, Chief Michael Gahagan, claims that both police and women are safer in Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit and other places with stricter more anti Constitution gun control than Maine.
My question to the people of Caribou and the other towns, cities and counties whose chiefs and sheriffs have come out on the side of Question three is this, if they will, for money, lie about Question Three, what else will they take money to lie about?
Your speeding ticket? Shooting your dog? Raping your wife or daughter? Beating or killing your son, husband, dad or other kin? Once they take money to lie about one thing it is but a hop skip and a jump to lying about everything for money.
Not seeing the problem. Its in the middle of nowhere.
I didn’t know that they put hemi’s in Neons.
I’m actually pretty lucky to have survived all the dumb things I did!
Same here. It’s a miracle, really.
Most cops today use LIDAR, a laser form of what was once called Radar. They are more accurate, don’t need to be calibrated in the same manner as radar and are much less susceptible to picking up a different vehicle from the one the cop was aiming at.
wow!.....Deja vu !!.....I got clocked at 143 on the same stretch of road back in 1969....Just home from final tour in VN...new corvette.....ahhh..the good olâ days...(now I get stopped for driving too slow!)
It’s funny how you think your going really fast, but then look at the speedo and your five under! LOL!
True story. I was on my way to San Diego in ‘97 driving a SAAB 9000E. Thinking about business, and simply not paying attention. I was startled back to reality when I saw a CHP in the rear view mirror. I looked down, and saw I was doing 128 mph. The CHP went past me like I was standing still. Thank GOD he had someplace he had to go, or I imagine I’d still be locked up. I’ve always paid more attention to my speedometer since then.
That was my immediate reaction. NO THANKS! NO WAY IN HADES AM I GOING THAT FAST IN A NEON!
Yeah. I had a 2001 Chrysler 300m with Sport package. I had it up to 142 in eastern Montana on I-94 once. I was being chased by a couple of guys in Grand Cherokees with the standard 105 mph governor.
It feels almost like the laws of physics change at that speed.
The turbo intercooler is visible in post 17. Might even be after market..
I remember a story where someone beat a ticket because he showed the officer did not use the radar gun properly and got a reading that was not possible. Turns out he helped design the gun and brought one with him to prove his point. Needless to say, he got off.
“Say goodbye to the nice officer.”
Dodge Neon used car prices just went waaaaay up!................
yep
