President Barack Obama expressed his disappointment on Wednesday with Congress, which voted overwhelmingly to overturn his presidential veto on a bill that would allow families of terrorist victims to sue foreign nations. The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) will allow the families of 9/11 victims to seek restitution by suing Saudi Arabia, where the vast majority of the hijackers hailed from. A mistake is an unintended action. This law was not a mistake. But it is a very bad idea. If a nation plays a part in commiting a terrorist act in this country then the remedy is war or something else done by our country against their country.

How long before the left claims England sponsors enviromental terrorism by supporting BP? How long will it take the leftist in the rest of the world to sue us? Who defines terrorism? Isreal will be the first country sued out of existence.

When conservatives ever learn that every government initiative will be used against us?

And why enrich more lawyers?

Lets see repubs Allow a giveaway of the internet but then help enrich trial lawyers and the left.

OF COURSE he’d see it as a mistake.

It opens the way for muslims to be punished for their perfidy.

Lol.in fact the Saudis and some of their Islamic stooge allies have threatened the US that they will retaliate. Nothing I’d like better than making a crater of these Islamic dictators sand castles and their prophet’s symbols.

“Many Freepers stayed home, both times.”

Yes, they did, and all of them should be ashamed! I have a vitriolic hatred for the Booshes, McLame and Romney, but on their worst day, they were all better by far than Obola.

No, the mistake began when Obola’s parents had unprotected sex!

But it is a very bad idea.

I agree with you. I'll take it one step further. If a foreign nation is found liable in a U.S. civil court in a terrorist act and the U.S. government did not deal with said nation as a military/diplomatic/economic adversary, then what does that say about the complicity of the U.S. government in the domestic act of terrorism?

This kind of bullsh!t legislation could only have been concocted by an association of ambulance-chasing trial lawyers.

Cool, but guess where Obama gets his money?

On another note, I remember reading a lengthy article years ago about how this guy, Feinberg(?)determined how much each 9/11 family deserved and received based on certain criteria.

They’ve already been compensated once from our country. But I guess people like to get as much money as they can. Human nature.

The question is: Why did Congress over ride this? Veto over rides rarely happen.
