Representative Jim Joran (R-OH) is able to establish with FBI Director James Comey that top Hillary Clinton I.T. Aide was online using Reddit to attempt to cover up production of documents, email addresses and then later "covering up the cover up."

The only other options are a.) impeachment and b.) somehow forced into a resignation.

That is a general perception but it is not true my FRiend. Cover Up Comey can in fact be fired.
If you want I can send you a definitive report by the Congressional Research Service (congress’ own research arm) that explains this in detail. Congress is very clear on this matter.

Like the Fed Reserve Chair, the FBI Director can be removed by the President ‘for cause’, although the ‘cause’ has never been understood to be policy differences. And, like the Fed Chair or any Fed official, the Director can be impeached and removed by Congress.

Its probably a combination of factors. Like most professional career bureaucrats in DC Comey can be manipulated through intimidation, favors, isolation, or exposure. The bureaucrats will do anything to protect their careers and/or connections in the DC swamp.
The alternative for them is to go out and get a real job, which is a thought worse than death to them. So they simply go with the flow.
Comey feels the pressures of the moment are worth enduring for future considerations. Its all been weighed out by him. He knows how to play congress, especially this one which is weak beyond belief.

You are correct. I had forgotten the Sessions case -- which, as I recall, might've been trumped up.
That person needs protective custody right now-—or they might be another ‘dead person’ attached to the Clintons.
