This they override. How about protecting US interests with ICANN? I guess the payoff there is higher and the Saudis are late with their bills.

"...the first time the chamber has delivered such a rebuke to the president since he took office."

First time, eh? When he's only got 113 days left in office.

How courageous of them...

I fear they won’t show the same level of testosterone for that effort. Certainly the democrats won’t.....

Lol. Congress only works 111-days a year. Hardly enough time to veto a bill a month.

Good, I was just about to point out on my blog that if this is allowed, shielding terrorist governments from victims we should take it out on Muslims living here and everyone who voted for this POS Muslim SOB the same way Baruch Goldstein did 20 years ago. God bless him.

They will never collect a penny from the Saudis.

Yes, there is a part of political theater to this all. Politicians see that. They don't expect it to go anywhere, but don't want any PR or headlines that would show them as Pro-Saudi or especially anti-9/11 family.

For my part, I believe the Saudis, as the keeper of Mecca and with their Wahabbist ideology, are one of the most retrograde forces on Earth. I believe they have an excessive influence on US politics. Their madrassas and their Islamist propaganda should be banned from the USA.

Perhaps this law might allow some "discovery" that would reveal the Saudi's lobbying efforts - and their US agents.

Reid always ensure he votes no on bills so if they come up again he can bring then up again.

I doubt anyone who wanted to sue the U.S. would be stopped by any legislation we passed one way or another. Whether we pay them or not if there’s a judgment against us will remain entirely voluntary on our part, as there is no enforcement mechanism in place that could affect our entire government or country.

Where? The Federal Courthouse in New York City. This is amazing that all of the Dems voted for it. What a slap in the face for Obama.

What is stopping them from suing us over that now? Does this legislation change the law in any way that would make a difference in allowing them to do that?

No one can make the Saudis pay if they lose the case, short of us using force, and no one can make us do it either.

Did you really have to put Ried’s vote up? :) kind of a given. po garbage.

great. Next, pass resolution to make Saudi Arabia glow, and I will feel compensated for 9/11.

Presumably this legislation lets Americans use our courts to sue foreign governments over terrorism.

Such a bill has no bearing one way or the other on what a foreign country chooses to do in their own courts. Our Supreme Court may like to use international law as precedent but that’s because they’re stupid liberals, not because that is legally binding.

I believe Arab dictators have already sued the U.S. or our leaders in their own courts and found us guilty on other occasions.

If being sued by jihadists was the worst thing you had to worry about from them, we’d be in good shape. Being sued is truly irrelevant since they’re already trying to summarily execute all of us.

Not with its current make up they won’t. Hard to rule on something with a 4-4 tie making Trump’s winning on Nov 8 all the more vital to the survival of our nation!

Vote Trump 2016
