Newt Gingrich: Trump won the debate. Don't believe the "Intellectual Yet Idiot" class
Fox News ^ | September 27, 2016 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 09/27/2016 11:45:26 PM PDT by aquila48

After all my years in public life I am sickened by the intellectual dishonesty, arrogance, and smugness of what Nassim Taleb calls the Intellectual Yet Idiots.

The IYI's showed up immediately after the debate.

They stacked the deck against Trump with Lester Holt's one-sided questions and interventions.

The Holt-Clinton team was glib, articulate, and self-congratulatory. However, they lost.

Trump wins strategically because in a blunt, clear style, he is saying things most Americans believe. Trump's opponents, including Holt and Clinton, felt good after the debate because their side was glib, articulate, and said things they and their friends believe to be true.

The Intellectual Yet Idiot class that dominates our news media fell all over themselves critiquing Trump and praising Holt and Clinton.

In doing so, they repeated the mistake they have made about every debate since August 2015.

Trump wins strategically because in a blunt, clear style, he is saying things most Americans believe.

Trump's opponents, including Holt and Clinton, felt good after the debate because their side was glib, articulate, and said things they and their friends believe to be true.

Hillary was vicious, nasty, mean-spirited, and arrogant. Look again at those final minutes.

Yes, and to Newt's list I would add condescending.

That's when I went from just disliking her to genuinely hating her -- and her sycophantic toady, Lester Holt. Prior to this debate, I had a modicum of respect for Holt. No longer. People like Hillary and Holt may think they won, but they are actually losing far more than a mere presidential debate. They are losing their cozy, insular elitist world and don't even know it.

The next debate will be even more slanted against Trump because the moderators are the tag team of Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz. So it will be three against one.

People have just got it get it through their heads that the phony Commission on Presidential Debates is a SCAM perpetrated by the deepest establishment political-media cabal by and for themselves. I wish I knew how to spread that truth far and wide.

The media and the Uni-Party has lost control of the narrative. Trump is the response they created over the last twenty four years of lying to, and ignoring the will, the people. Due to the internet and talk radio, we have not only tuned them out, we have taken control of the narrative to reflect OUR reality.

At this point it does not matter if Trump won the debate or not. People are sick and tired of the slimey bastards in DC.
Trump is the messenger.
This happened once before during the early 1900s. It brought us the progressives that time. This time I hope it brings us liberty. Might be a start towards that. I dunno.

The morning after the debate, CNN had a poll of what they described as 20 undecided voters. 2 abstained and 18 thought Hillary won the debate.

Where does CNN get these folks from?

CNN calls up the DNC and asks them to send some undecided voters.

IYI is a perfect description of Newt when he goes off the rails from time to time

I’m sorry, but Trump should have responded by mentioning her treatment of the Secret Service.

Erick Erickson painted himself in a corner very early on thinking he was staking winning territory and is so "principled" about his mistake that he is going to sleep publicly in the bed he made, period. That means attempting to show in every comment why he is right and everyone else is wrong. Basically, what we see out of Erick Erickson is bias and really hate, which I think has made him bitter and is a kind of a root of bitterness within him, pure and simple.

Pride is a bad thing.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Trump speaks to the masses - everyone in America wonders why Hillary, who has been in powerful government positions for 30 years, 30 years, just now has noticed the country is in collapse under her watch and is just now coming up with her so called solutions.

America in one voice is saying, sure, yea right, we believe you Hillary.

[Erick Erickson] attempting to show in every comment why he is right and everyone else is wrong...

You got that one right. At least three radio commentators have thoroughly destroyed their reputation this election cycle: Erickson, Levin, and Beck.

It's a cycle.

Next week, he will say something completely counterproductive to the movement.

I like him. My only disagreement would be where Trump is continually represented as rough, inarticulate and “plain spoken, which almost seems like a backdoor dig from Newt at times. He is passionate and less glib or rehearsed than Hillary obviously but wandering into the territory of homespun or unsophisticated is not helpful.
