Sen. Ted Cruz said on Tuesday he is willing to help Donald Trump prepare for his next debate with Hillary Clinton.
"I am happy to help," Cruz said on Hugh Hewitt's radio show Tuesday morning. "I have conveyed that to them."
.
.
"I think he really went after Hillary, which was a good thing," Cruz told Hewitt. "Anyone who is swooning at Hillary's performance last night, that's a pretty good indication that you're a card-carrying member of the liberal media, especially in the first half hour. I think Donald very much had the upper hand over Hillary. Hillary was tentative and had no real answers.

LOL...exactly.
What...he’ll “utterly” explain all of the glorious wonders of TPP to Trump?
No thanks!
Way too much talk about . . . he should have hit her with the Clinton Foundation and he should have hit her with more of the emails and he should have done this or that.
HE’S GOT YOUR VOTE. HE ISN’T ON CAMERA TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. HE’S THERE TO WIN INDEPENDENTS AND MINORITIES.
To win them, all he needed to do was look rational. His win criteria was really, really low. There is no need to “go after her” and take risks with losing votes because bullying. It’s not football. You don’t have to run up the score for some tiebreaker in the playoffs. If he wins by 1 vote, he wins.
Or rather she loses. She is so unfavorable, all he has to be is “an acceptable alternative”. Look distinguished. Look rational. That’s all. This is not football. Prevent defense doesn’t lose in this game.
Trump needs all the help he can get now and after he is elected.
My response:
Yes he does, and yes he will. I opined back in December (or thereabouts), that neither Trump nor Cruz could win the general election without the support of the other's supporters. The results of the actually contested primary elections/caucuses support that opinion.
Now we're in the middle of the general election; Trump needs the support of the (former) Cruz supporters. Without them he will not be elected. Anybody who works to alienate those Cruz supporters is trying to get Hildebeeste elected.
People said he was too aggressive in the primary debates and now they say he lost....
I DO believe Cruz would be a tremendous asset on Trump’s debate team.
I hope Trump takes Cruz’s offer. A time or two last night Trump missed great opportunities to nail her, and Cruz is a polished debator. Nice offer.
Only an idiot would decline Cruz’s offer.
Trump should evaluate help offered from anywhere. He is facing a demonic entity in his opponent. Cruz is a great debater and I hope Trump takes him up on it. I want all of his supporters to get on the train.
Understood. Cruz can’t change Trump’s mind, but he can help articulate specific abstract concepts. That’s all. Cruz is using this to repair his image, of course. Trump, the strategist, knows this. We’ll see how he handles this.
This post made by one of your supporters going back to running for senator here in Texas!
I campaigned for you. Donated money. Worked the phones Etc, Etc.
You've lost my support. You are a disappointment!
If we wanted a Harvard debate style, he’d have won. He lost, so get lost, Ted.
I think I would graciously pass. I’m fairly certain Cruz plans on running against him in 4 years. I fear he’d use it against him.
Trump needs to listen to Lora Ingraham, IMO.
Thanks but no thanks.
Another point....Trump needs to remember his snake poem....
I could care less about Cruz motives in fact I am pretty sure he has come to realize that he has probably flushed his presidential chance down the toilet eight years from now.
Cruz technically is probably the best debater in the republican party and any help he could give trump in debate is good.
the last thing we should do is let the party be torn up by a primary because after Trump is elected he is going to need people like Cruz to do the heavy lifting in congress with the bills that are going to be passed. if anyone thinks that we elect trump and all the problems caused by Obama are over they are fools .
take a look at all the problems jimmy carter has provided the nation since he left office. we have to unite the party and Cruz helping with debate prep is a good way to use his talents and build up good relationships with the Senate and House.
remember this Obama is an agitator and while he is incompetent as a President he is good at agitating situations. the man has all ready decided to stay in Washington to defend what he has inflicted on the country. with congress expect on the democrat side of things for them to do everything and anything to discredit and obstruct what ever is done.
if you though there was discord during the Obama presidency you have seen nothing. the protest in Ferguson was just George Soros warm up party. don’t expect there to be any honeymoon period for trump because the establishment of both parties and the bureaucracy in Washington DC is going to fight him the entire time he is in the White house.
Not a Cruz fan since his Beck bromance, however, he does know his sh!t about certain topics and if I were Trump, pick up some pointers so he can Hillary right in her policy wonky wheelhouse.
I tend to agree with you (not that I care about these pseudo-debates).
Cruz would harm Trump. NO !!!!
I don’t want him anywhere near Trump.
