Ted Cruz Releases Statement on the Debate
Ted Cruz via Facebook ^

Posted on 09/27/2016 3:52:05 AM PDT by TigerClaws

Tonight, a clear contrast was drawn between the two nominees. Tonight, Hillary Clinton made it clearer than ever that if elected President, our future will continue on the same path that is hurting millions of Americans. If Clinton is elected, we know that the havoc Obamacare is wreaking on American families, on small businesses, and on our healthcare system will continue. We know that President Obama’s relentless efforts to crush the oil and gas industry and to wage war on coal will continue. We know that the Obama administration’s willful blindness to radical Islamic terrorism and the influx of unvetted refugees from nations infiltrated by terrorists will continue. We know that President Obama’s lawless executive amnesty will continue and even expand.

If Clinton is elected, we know that a liberal justice will be named to fill Scalia’s seat and we will lose the Supreme Court for a generation. With that, we know for a certainty that our right to keep and bear arms, our religious liberty and federalism are in danger. Tonight we received insight into what a Hillary Clinton presidency would look like for Americans. We know that her policies would kill jobs, reduce wages, and continue the downward spiral our country has endured under President Obama.

Tonight, Donald Trump had his strongest debate performance of the election cycle. He drew strong contrasts with Hillary on taxes, regulations, law and order, and the disastrous Iran deal.

Rather than Hillary's America, we need to take a different path. A path that would begin to restore our country from the damage it has suffered the last eight years. We need to unite to defend freedom and restore the Constitution. And Hillary Clinton made absolutely clear tonight she would not do so.

Ted looked into his future and there was nothing there.

He is trying to buy back in to the system.

Good for Ted. The past does not matter to me. He did the right thing with this statement.

THIS! Especially in light of the so-called debate last night which was a driveby media interview for Hitlery’s press secretary by Les Holt

So why did Cruz feel the need to comment? Like people care what he thinks?

I'm rather glad he did comment! He's got a lot of #NeverTrumpers in his bag. Might influence more than a few.

I think he will be actively campaigning for Trump in the coming weeks.

I don't know if he will or not, but if Cruz does then it'll be because he thinks it'll help him and not because it would help Trump or the party. And if Trump wins then Cruz will not be a reliable ally in the Senate.

"So why did Cruz feel the need to comment?"

The polls are trending to a Trump win, Ted realizes that in "Party Politics" you are either "with the Party" or "against the Party" Congress Critters who are found to be" against the Party" don't get the choice seats on the Congressional Committees.

When Trump wins the election he will be the defacto head of the Republican Party. Ted knows he has no cards to play except for the ones that boost Trump's candidacy.

If not he will be persona non grata in the Republican controlled congress. He would be better off switching parties at that point.

Amazing. The fascist with a disease is poised to take over for the vulture of Islam to move the caliphate forward, and people here are berating Cruz and playing right into the hand of the Clinton crime family.

Let’s face facts: we need every vote.
If Cruz has had he “come to Jesus moment, I say, “what took you so long?”.
Other than that, he is a politician that we need to help push this thing over
The finish line. Believe it or not, the spin for Hillary is going to be unbearable, so I’m glad he has jumped on board the train.
I look at all of this differently, a big light has been shone on Republicans and so called conservatives. Now we know who they really are, but we need to use them until we throw their Asses out of DC.

Trump never bad mouthed and member of the GOP since he won the primary. I think he dislikes the Bushes the most though.

The RNC saying if you don’t endorse no funds or other help. This I feel had a large impact on Ted. Also I think he misses the action. He is one of our top debaters and if Ted gets his butt in gear he can make a difference in this campaign. Appearing with Trump at a rally in some of states that Ted was strong in would help bring back a lot of the Never Trumpers.

Very interesting poll results. I heard from many last night that Trump missed many opportunities or did not deliver a knock out punch or that he was on the defensive, etc. Still, he appeared Presidential and that is a big plus.

I know that on line polls are not scientific and that they can be freeped, but fir Trump to win so many of them last night including many on liberal sites, that says something.

That's just silly. McConnell? McCain? Graham? Cruz is FAR more likely to actually support Trump's plans than the 0bama Lickspittle Brigade.

Cruz Derangement Syndrome leads to faulty thinking. The primaries ended months ago. Deal with it.

I care what he thinks. I only supported him for about the first 2 weeks after he announced his candidacy at Liberty University, but he is an important figure in the NeverTrump movement and his enthusiastic support takes some of the wind out of their sails.

As a Trumper supporter, I'm grateful for help from anyone during these final weeks before Election Day. Let's be happy whenever anyone tries to push Trump over the finish line.

Yes, Cruz is late to the party - very late to the party. I was very disappointed when he refused to endorse Donald Trump at the convention. However, given what’s at stake in this election, we should not turn away anyone who wants to support us. We need every ally we can get. Do you Hillary is turning down support from anyone?
