Random sound bite machine

Spewing out incoherent answers that are non-sequiturs as a way of generating sound bites for later spin.

I couldn't figure out why she is doing this kitchen sink type of approach.

It's because she just spews pre-determined talking points in a semi-random manner which allows the spin masters to pick and choose whatever serves them.

I don’t agree with the former, perhaps the latter.

It was odd.

You can’t understand this without taking the entire MSM/Democrat machine in to perspective as everything they are doing is co-ordinated as part of a longer term plan.

I wonder if anyone in the country felt like they could believe what came out of Hillary’s mouth.

Hillary is clearly the more polished politician. No doubt of that at all. And it’s also true what you wrote. She clearly came with a bunch of prepared lines.

All in all, I’m calling this debate a draw. Neither side, I think, gained an advantage.

A draw is a Trump win.

Trump’s problem was that he responded to every jab and didn’t get out all of his most important points/facts.

It’s clearly a strategy to get in as many talking points for people to hear their personal issue mentioned, and to use as sound bites by the allied MSM, as possible.

It’s like Moneyball in a way, if you are familiar with that.

I think that Trump hit her hardest in talking about ISIS and how they let it all happen by allowing the power vacuum in Iraq. Her response that it was all because of George Bush was weak.

She had fear in her eyes while trump was saying it.

I’m certainly fine with a draw, but I gotta say I’m disappointed in both sides. Neither seemed to engage the other very well. Said they’d fix things, but what exactly would they do to fix things? I don’t know. How, for example, is Hillary going to fix relationships between police and inner city minorities? She said she would, but how?

On cyber security, how in the heck did Trump not push the email server? This lady can’t even handle classified material correctly, but she’s going to fix the nation’s cyber security? That was a huge weakness that Trump simply didn’t exploit.

Disappointed in the debate!

I think Trump overplayed the point about other countries needing to pay more for their defense. I agree with the point, but I think he began beating a dead horse after a while.

“Trump’s problem was that he responded to every jab and didn’t get out all of his most important points/facts.”

He got lost in minutiae, went off on petty tangents and repeated himself. That approach can be forgiven at a campaign rally, not so much in a debate against a savage and determined enemy.

He needs to stick to his basic points.

Who's expectations?

I expected Hillary to do much better against Trump, but Trump did great.

Hillary had a collection of pre programmed, rote answers she spewed, but she could not think on her feet and Trump could.

Overall, this was a unusual debate where both sides laid out their positions and who won depends on how they actually feel about the issues.

The most inexplicable thing is Donald's defense of his not supporting the Iraq, which is irrelevant.

George Bush won the the war in Iraq and Hillary and Obama lost the peace in Iraq

What Donald should focus on is that the fact that regardless of how you felt about the Iraq war before it started, George Bush had the Iraq war effectively won and handed over a peaceful Iraq to Obama and Clinton wit ha brighter future.

Obama withdrew from Iraq on the pretext that he and his Sec of State Hillary Clinton were unable to successfully negotiate a status of forces agreement with the Iraqi government.

Our withdrawal from Iraq was a total disaster and Hillary Clinton's failure to negotiating a status of forces agreement was a major diplomatic failure with disastrous consequences for the region and the entire world .

Was Trump talking about Hillary’s treatment of Bill’s women when he said it’s on the tip of my tongue?

I am surprised how critical a number of posters are. Yes, Trump should have brought up a number of issues. But overall, he came across as presidential. Hillary came across as her unlikable self.
