Big hater during the early primaries.

NM too. I think ME will be very close. Right now NH would go Cankles, but still possible to trend.

Cruz could possibly pull in WI.

Her ads are still running in OH, but don’t know how far in advance those ad buys were made.

No, not really, yes, that was one thing in the spin, but it wasn’t hardly the only thing... and Trump foolishly not only stepped in it initially, but then kept tweeting daily about it etc.

The Kahn stuff was self inflicted, He screwed up and cost himself at least a month, the two weeks where it killed his momentum and another two weeks to build it back up. Had Trump made that mistake in late August, and Early Sept, instead of late July and Early August, he likely would have given the election to Hillary.

You keep focusing on the trees, missing the fact Trump screwed up, fortunately it was early enough in the cycle and his team recognized it and made the changes needed to get back on track.

Since then Trump has been disciplined, and remained completely on message, didn’t bite on the bait when Hillary realizing Trump had stepped in it with Kahn tried to bait him with the father of the Orlando shooter as well... etc etc...

But make no mistake, Trump made a big mistake with that entire episode... not the end of the world, he is a political neophyte so he was going to make mistakes... However to think he didn’t cause his own problems in late July through Mid August and it was nothing more than media spin is living in denial.... Yes the Media engaged in spin around it, but Trump stepped in it initially and then kept stepping in it for nearly 2 weeks on that... and it completely killed his momentum... and cost him about a month total to get back to where he was momentum wise before he did that, and a bit more on top of it to get his numbers back to where they were before it.

WI, MI and PA were always going Trump... Hillary has no shot in the rust belt, MN and IL are only states she can hold there.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree.

I think it was entirely acceptable for Trump to question any speaker at the Democrat convention, of all places, that attacked him. The mistake was in trying to bring the silent partner wife into it. Trump made no mistake regarding the son.

The media spun from the wife to the son.

So, you get one point regarding the wife, but you get no points regarding the father or the son.

On the other hand, the ‘don’t feed the troll’ rule applies, and that’s also essentially what you are saying....stop talking about it.

So, I’ll call it a 50/50 split. :>)

The result will be seen early in the evening. If Trump wins PA or VA, then he’s likely won. If he wins both, then he’s definitely won. If he wins NJ or NY, then it will be a Reagan-like landslide.

I believe that the performance of a candidate in a debate should be judged on whether or not he advances his candidacy. That judgment supposes a clear understanding of what will accomplish that objective. That understanding has radically changed in the last days.

Until some time ago the odds were firmly with Hillary to win the election because Trump was in the unenviable position of being required to run the board of battleground states in order to prevail. Therefore under that state of the race, Trump must "win" the debate in order to get a new deal of the electoral college cards. Under those circumstances, Hillary needed only to muddle through and bank on Donald to simply disqualify himself or, if Trump somehow managed to escape whole, Hillary could count on her huge air game and the standard Democrat ground game to pick off one or two states and finish Donald Trump off.

The polls which have come out in recent days and even this morning make it clear that the momentum is with Trump and that Hillary must "win" the debate or watch her numbers diminish every day on the electoral map. Unless something changes the direction, Trump's momentum will carry him to victory. Therefore, Hillary must use the debate tonight to stop Trump's momentum.

Clearly both sides understand this dynamic but that does not mean the Trump by his nature will hold back. The question is will Trump moderate tone and concede the odd issue knowing that the burden is on Hillary to really win the debate not just to score a few points. The next question is, will Hillary become even more strident and unattractive as she desperately tries to bring Trump down?

This is not to say that this inversion of roles in the debates will by any means be dispositive but it does say that the real advantage lies with Trump.

Finally, most Americans are not really interested in Hillary's encyclopedic knowledge of arcane politics, they already know they dislike Hillary, they have viscerally dislike her for decades, they just want to know if it is safe to vote for Donald Trump. This dynamic makes it even more difficult for Hillary to accomplish what is necessary to advance her candidacy. She has the burden to kill off Trump in the debate but she cannot do so by being aggressive because that is precisely part of the reason why she is hated.

How can Hillary conceivably do it? Unless Trump commits a world-class gaffe, she cannot hope to do it. The odds are with Trump.

I agree. If NY and NJ go his way we can go to bed early.

I agree with you. Trump stays on safe ground sticking to his talking points and speaking in general terms. He can deal with arcane points by referring them to the minutiae at donaldtrump.com.

He should speak in HIS broad themes.

ANY attacks by the moderator or the other candidate can be dismissed with a simple, “That is not accurate.” and again a referral to the actual facts at his web site.

And that frees him up to talk about whatever he wants to for a few minutes.

BTW, hope all has been well with you.

I agree with you 100 percent..Whenever Holt tries to pull a Candy Crowley on Trump, Trump should just say “Visit my web site and you will see all the information there to make an informed choice” Trump should totally ignore Holt, Holt is in the tank for Clinton, of course he is, he works for NBC doesn’t he, but Trump should NOT attack him, it will make him look childish, like he’s having a temper tantrum, just stand there, poised, talk DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE and he will win

I agree. Holt is not to be trusted for even a second.

And your point about going over their heads and talking to the people is right on target.

Trump should say, “If you’re an African American, then let me appeal to you. Give me a chance. These folks you see here have had their chance. I’ve created jobs. I’ve been fair with my workers. I’ve paid them well. Let’s all roll up our sleeves and get to work together rebuilding America, it’s cities, towns, jobs, schools, and families.”

Agreed. Hillary’s biggest problem has been Hillary. The more people see, they less they like. There is a feeling in battle, or in sports, when you feel the tide running towards, or away from you. Historically the debates, while great poltical theater, don’t fundamentally change polling trends.

Trump should close by tying the current state of the nation firmly to Hillary’s tail. Hope will beat fear with the US Voters.

Trump needs to say something like this.

If you have no problem with the epidemic violence in our cities, if you have no issue with the stagnate broken US Economy, if you have no problem with instability and insecurity across the world, vote for her. She has been a leader in the political system that has repeatedly failed the American people for 30 years.

If you want a better future for you and your kids, vote for me. She is telling you to live in fear. That you must vote for her so she can “save” you from the political system she helped break. I am telling you live in hope. Hope that we can, and will, do better then this.

Trump needs to do what Reagan did, go OVER the media..Trump has to tell voters, “Look, does Hillary Clinton have more knowledge than me, absolutely, she has been a career politician, but what has ALL that experience gotten her, her buddy Assad is GASSING HIS OWN PEOPLE, red line drawn, nothing happens..Obama promises to be “Flexible” with Russia in 2012, NO ONE in the media asks what he means by that..Hillary Clinton watched FOUR HEROES die in Benghazi, she stood there and LIED to the victims family members, blaming a video for their slaughter, THAT is what Hillary Clinton’s experience has gotten all of us..so I ask you, give me a chance, give me a chance to make the inner cities better, so that children can go to better schools, have a better future..Hillary Clinton is BOUGHT by the Unions, she doesn’t want better schools because the Unions own her..I want schools to be better for EVERYONE..so that every child has a chance to grow up and become successful..give me a chance and I promise you I will do everything in my power to make this country great for everyone”

Cruz could possibly pull in WI.

Cruz made a smart decision by doing the right thing and distancing himself from the GOPe and the loon birds in the #NeverTrump cabal. Even Mark Levin is tempering his stance and I like it. Come on home Mark, we could use ya.
