(CNN)Just one point separates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in two states that are critical to both candidates' chances of becoming president, according to new CNN/ORC polls in Pennsylvania and Colorado.

In Colorado, likely voters break 42% for Trump, 41% for Clinton, 13% for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 3% for Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Pennsylvania's likely voters split 45% for Clinton, 44% for Trump, 6% for Johnson and 3% for Stein. Those divides are well within each poll's 3.5-point margin of sampling error.

Trump can’t win a state with only a one or two point lead, he needs 5 or 10 point lead.

I did not think I'd see Trump close the gap in Pennsylvania so quickly. Great news.

The troubling part is that T+C = 89%. I figure that about half the "other" vote will break one way or the other for main two. So there's work to be done.

There’s no “deadlock” going on. Trump by a mile.

Over sampled by dems:

Among those likely voters, 38% described themselves as Democrats, 31% described themselves as Republicans and 31% described themselves as independents or members of another party. For the sample of registered voters, 49% said they were registered as Democrats, 37% registered as Republicans, 13% registered with no party and 1% with another party.

Hillary’s path is narrowing. It was reported yesterday that she is pulling out of Ohio and will campaign in New Hampshire.

I really do prefer candidates winning electors by congressional district, and a state winner getting only the electors that relate to the senate seats.

It would make voting in one’s district really important no matter which state you happen to be in, even California.

I really don’t like winner-take-all by state.

Wow, and Trump is just now about to unleash some ads in those states. Camp Hillary has to be worried...and what’s she going to do? Hit the campaign trail? I doubt it.

Romney and Bush won p,entry of states with close margins. This paranoia of fixed elections needs to end.

Two (!) polls have Trump in the MOE today in PA. I’ll take it.

Well. Get used to it. Once into the second tier of battleground states they will ALL be close because the Dem registration margins are big. PA is +10 D, I would guess VA is at least +5, WI probably +7-8.

So the notion that Trump is going to win blue states “outside the margin of cheating” isn’t realistic. He will win, there will be minimal cheating.

Oddly, in this poll (the PA poll) Johnson had increased his number from 10% to 13%. That caught my eye.
