There was some discussion last week about how NBC would try to physically aid candidate Hillary Clinton’s optics with a custom designed debate platform intended to give the viewer the a false illusion of scale and scope.
Well, it appears that NBC has done exactly that.
A comparison of both debate podiums reflects that one is visibly larger, and taller, than the other; and a debate standing platform is evident as the stage is being set up.

No matter how many times it’s called a podium, it’s still a lectern. 99% of those here are just as uninformed as the media.

Correct! Hillary will be standing on a podium, behind the lectern.
She will still look short when she steps down to shake his hand and congratulate him on winning the debate.
Will she even be able to SEE over it?, she is only 5’4, might backfire on her,...should have given her a stool, she would have fallen off of it, or spent most of her energy trying not to.
None of this matters unless they use audio filters to modulate her shrill voice. She sounds like a screeching cat.
They made Hellary’s shorter, but not wider, so her big butt will show out both sides. That’s unfair.
The explanation I gathered from another article last week about the requests from the Clinton campaign that were turned down indicated that instead of letting her have a step stool to stand on, they would alter her podium to come up to belt level, so each candidate would have the same “look”.
I believe I also read that this has been done previously in presidential debates.
She wanted to be closer in height to Mr. Trump, but that was shot down.
