Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence said Sunday that Gennifer Flowers will not attend the first presidential debate and that Donald Trump floated the idea to mock Clinton campaign efforts to district voters by playing games with front row seats.
The uproar about inviting Flowers, the woman with whom Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, had a sexual encounter, started last week.
Dallas Mavericks owner and outspoken Trump critic Mark Cuban on Thursday tweeted: "Just got a front row seat to watch @HillaryClinton overwhelm @realDonaldTrump.
A Clinton aide later told CNN that the Democratic presidential nominees campaign had indeed invited Cuban, which prompted Trump to tweet Saturday that he had invited Flowers to the debate Monday night at Hofstra University, in Long Island, N.Y.
Gennifer Flowers will not be there, Pence, the governor of Indiana, told Fox News Sunday. The tweet was actually mocking effort by Hillary Clinton and her campaign to distract voters.

I wondered when she responded if the whole thing had been discussed. Yes, she should have been contacted first. Hopefully she handles this maturely.
That, would be a great idea. Throw in a couple triplets as well.
“They are walking back something Mr. Trump tweeted.”
I recall that his Tweet had an “if” and a “maybe” in it. It didn’t read like a promise or a prediction.
Here's what she tweeted: ""Hi Donald. You know I'm in your corner and will definitely be at the debate!"
Here is what her spokesperson said: "Ms. Flowers has agreed to join Donald at the debate."
Sounds like she thought it was a serious invitation.
Trump should invite a Jennifer Flowers look-alike to sit front row in short skirt.
How about a front row composed of Jennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky, Martha Willey, and Juanita Broderick.
Sounds like Pence and Conway. Both were on the Sunday shows saying that it wasn't going to happen.
Actually, I’m glad the whole thing was called off. I envisioned Hitlery using it as an excuse to cancel her appearance at the debate. Something along the lines of being terribly upset and bullied at the thought of Flowers being there. You know, brings up such painful memories for her, such a callous thing to do.
She could have been a victim, making Trump an insensitive bully and begged off the debate all in one shot.
Well, is Cuban going to be there? ?? That is what matters.
Jennifer knew it wasn’t an invitation. It was a threat, not an invitation.
Flowers is not tomato truck material. She played the TRUMP remark up to punk the stupid and jab Hillary and Cuban.
Who cares? This “debate” is a media-contrived event, another part of the Kabuki Theater that is the election “process.”
Hillary Clinton has no business being in ANY “debate.” She should be in prison.
Clinton says she invited him and he says he's going to be there. We'll find out tomorrow.
I would rather have the survivors from Benghazi there. Just to remind everyone of those who she let die!
Throw in Clinton’s unfortunate mulatto son.
Men must be fathers to their children. ALL MEN.
Sure she did.
...if I were Trump I would have hired about a dozen Gennifer Flowers look a likes....all wearing the same outfits and sunglasses....and sprinkle them all over.....
“Well, is Cuban going to be there? ?? That is what matters.”
Why would it matter if he is there? I noticed that the MSM wants it to matter, for some reason.
The Debate Commission seemed to come out against the idea, at least of her in the front row which could have been part of the equation as events evolved. They probably didn’t want to do anything that risky before having any idea how the actual proceeding was going to play out.
Who cares? They are not the product.
Actually, he should find a Vince Foster body double and put him right in front of her. :)
