Since they are wholly a construct of the television industry, I find that Presidential “debates” are little more than TV game shows wherein the candidates *and* the moderators compete to see who can come up with the cleverest one-liner, the most cutting insult and the best “gotcha” comment or question and the winner is determined by the political proclivities of the viewer.

Simply not worth this deplorable vulgarian’s time.

So good morning yon ladies and gems, good morning AB and, as always, thank you so very much for doing this thread every week so reliably. Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom and thank you yon commenters for fleshing it all out for me.

Today we briefly go over the Diane Feinstein saga, a little kitten update but most important, and keeping with topic, Hillary and the Coumadin.

First, Diane Feinstein’s well went dry. Goodness it was only a 25 foot deep thing, Billy and I had a shallow well like that and it went dry too. People should not have 25 foot wells filled with sand and crickets.

I was suspicious that the well was dry but Feinstein, she wants things to be the way that SHE wants them, including my suspicion that her live in mate is addicted to painkillers but alas, another story, another day.

At any rate, Diane Feinstein has been spending a lot of time at my house, washing clothes and her hair as for now going on two weeks she’s had no water. NO WATER!!!

Now I don’t mind, it’s been really great, she comes over, we play with the animals. Diane Feinstein took care of my pets while I was in the hospital, more on this later. We do watch Fox when she’s over and Diane Feinstein is learning a thing or two about politics although she’s still a registered Democrat…..boo.

I’ll ask how the water situation’s going and she shrugs, tells me Joe-her friend-worked on but he’s taking a nap now.

Man if I had no water BILLY WOULD NOT BE NAPPING UNTIL WE HAD SOME!!!!

Finally after a couple of weeks of this, and now that it does appear that the well did, indeed, go dry, I finally told her, gently, that she needs to WAKE JOE UP!

Anyway, I do enjoy her company but I know she’s miserable with no water, who wouldn’t be?

As for the kitten, God bless. All my friends tell me I needed a new love in my life but I was thinking more like a HUMAN MALE for God’s sake, not a kitten! I already got two cats and two dogs, why I need another kitten?

And yet me and that kitten have bonded like you would not believe. She’s always by my side, goodness her name is Shadow, because first she’s all gray and also that she is, ahem, my Shadow. Dogs and other cats love her and she thinks this is her house. Kitten gets spooked whenever Diane Feinstein is around although we both look alike, Shadow sure knows the difference.

Now about me, Hillary and the Coumadin.

First, good news! I GOT MY LEGS BACK!!! I been walking and exercising at the gym and I’d say my movement ability has improved by 70-75% because of this stent. And I told everybody at the hospital, everybody at my cardiac clinic, everybody on Facebook. It’s so nice to be able to walk again. No, it’s not perfect but I am quite happy with the result.

Now when I was in the hospital they discovered I had a bad case of AFIB and blood pressure off the wall so I got put on Coumadin and my blood pressure dosage was quadrupled.

And guess what? I feel pretty good.

Don’t know if y’all know anything about Coumadin but it’s a very serious drug. It’s so serious, hand to God, you can’t even eat KALE with the stuff.

Coumadin prevents clots. It does NOT break up existing clots and this is important as regards Hillary. Evidently a heart with AFIB is more prone to throw clots. Coumadin removes vitamin K from the blood, vitamin K being what causes blood to clot.

Hillary is also on Coumadin and this is not a medicine to take lightly. They must take a reading every few weeks if not more often to determine that internal bleeding is a danger.

“Watch that your gums don’t bleed,” the nurse-practitioner told me, “also check for tarry stools”.

Man I was freaked out with these instructions. Now I read an article about Coumadin by Hillary’s doctor who declared she prescribed Coumadin for the Sec of State to help dissolve that blood clot she had under her skull.

The writer of the article declared this a blatant, that Coumadin does NOT break up blood clots though it does prevent future ones.

“Any woman put on a lifetime of Coumadin is NOT a healthy, hale human being ready to lead the free world,” I paraphrase the writer and I am dumbfounded.

Because yes I did get my legs back, but thanks to Hillary I learned all about Coumadin and I now know I am not healthy enough to lead the free world.

Which is fine with me but folks, Hillary is way worse shape than me. I have never passed out, my eyes don’t go all over my head, I have not broken into a cough I can’t stop. And don’t forget I had a quadruple bypass almost ten years ago.

AND I AM HEALTHIER THAN HILLARY!!!

That’s all folks. This story with Hillary and the Coumadin happening the same time I’m getting some is almost serendipity.

But I do know first hand how very serious that woman’s health issues are.

Heh.

You may smile about the kale but they grilled me for several minutes about green stuff I eat.

And having always been, ahem, “curvy”, I cultivated a like for such as broccoli, asparagus and Brussels sprouts, all of which are almost as bad as kale.

Now they assure me that I CAN eat this stuff but eating too much of it will offset the effects of the Coumadin, which is busy removing vitamin K from the body.

So go figger this weird bit of irony.

Anyway, is everybody ready for the debate tomorrow night? Be watching for roaming eyeballs, cough and bleeding gums on Hillary.

Seeking a weekend break from his campaign rallies;
Donald Trump jetted to his yacht, which was docked off the coast of Italy.

He invited Pope Francis and the press corps on board for a Saturday afternoon cruise.
It was a rather windy day. The Pope’s little hat, his zucchetto, was blown from his head and into the water.

A crewman began lowering a boat to retrieve the zucchetto. Trump told the crewman not to bother.
Trump climbed down the yacht’s ladder; walked across the waves, picked up the zucchetto; walked
back to the yacht and handed it to the Pope.

The Pope and the press corps were amazed! Donald Trump could actually walk on water!

Speculation immediately began as to how ABC, CNN, NBC, The Washington Post and New York Times
would report this miraculous event to the rest of the world.

The next morning the New York Times headline read . . . .

DONALD TRUMP CAN’T SWIM!!!

Wonderful post, bray! I hope Trump or some of his people read it, pass it on, and he takes heed. This really is The Big One where everyone will be looking for the contrasts.

CNN Jake Tapper fixated on Gennifer Flowers show up, it is his first question to Kellyanne. Kellyanne says she can't believe how easily the Clinton campaign can be baited. Funny exchange, Kellyanne owned Tapper on the "tit for tat".

Kellyanne wants to know where Clinton's "aspriational" theme is? Clinton is running all sorts of negative ads.

Does Trump plan to bring up Bill Clinton's infidelity? He will respond to questions, he will defend himself, he has no plan to bring up Bill Clinton's infidelity. The people deserve a debate on policy.

Tapper says Trump attacks people without being provoked, Heidi Cruz, Raphael Cruz for example. Has Trump apologized to Cruz? Kellyanne won't reveal private conversations. She is happy that Cruz kept his pledge to support the GOP nominee, and she was impressed with Cruz's substantive statement. Trump has 9 in 10 Romney voters.

Tapper wants to turn to Russia - Carter Page - has opened discussions with Russia about lifting sanctions. Kellyanne says carter Page is not part of the campaign that Kellyanne is involved with, Page is not in Trump tower, and the activities that Tapper described are not on behalf of the Trump campaign in any way shape or form.

ABC Stephanopolis, picked up at "what does Trump take as a success?" Kellyanne says that Trump has been out on the stump talking issues. Mook said that Trump will get away with lying at the debate. Kellyanne says Clinton campaign is worried that she is not a good debater.

Running against Clinton veracity -- Clinton is not to fond of the 2nd amendment, but she is fond of the 5th amendment. The press shouldn't be the fact checkers, the candidates should do that against each other. George tries to make an issue of Trump calling Lester Holt a Democrat, and that he will be under pressure, after Kellyanne said Holt will do a good job.

George brings up the Flowers tweet. Kellyanne asks why does Mark Cuban have to start it? Trump is a good counter-puncher. This debate should not be about which billionaire Clinton can put in the front row. Clinton campaign actually put out a statement in response to a tweet, and falsely claimed Trump had invited Flowers.

Is Trump correct that black neighborhoods are "in the worst shape ever?" Kellyanne says we need to have a serious conversation about crime in the inner cities.

Stephanopolis brings up the birther issue again! Do you think this will come up in the debate? Kellyanne doesn't know, that is up to Lester Holt and Crooked Clinton. Trump did not bring up the birther thing. George disagrees, Kellyanne says what about Blumenthal? What about the fired staffer?

Fini.

Hillary is most likely studying everything she can about policy details and delivery practices that make her look human and engaged. In short, she thinks she can wonk her way to the election victory; if only she can recite every fact and figure (and not screech). Because, to her and her closest advisors, the voters want to elect a cold, uncaring expert who can spew every statistic. Cruella DeVille with details.

Apparently nobody told her group that Ted Cruz already tried this. And it did not work. The point of being on the debate shows is not to "win" points during the debate or have the media types tell the LIV's that Hillary won the debate, or acquitted herself well; the point of the debate is to change a voter's mind, or get a voter to vote for you. Ted Cruz never learned that. Bill Clinton knew that before his first debate in 1992. Donald Trump knew that before his first debate in 2015.

What are the chances that Hillary will ever figure it out, and then be successful in applying the knowledge?

This and Baer’s evening show were the only two news shows that I watched. After several years it devolved to just watching the panel portions of the shows. Now....nothing.

Oddly, since I stopped watching any news shows at all, I only need to take my ranitidine after I have tomato sauce.

I think the debate is a trap for Trump supporters if they are expecting Hillary to faint or head bobble, cough, whatever...

Hillary, if she manages to stay alive, will be praised by the media for “powering thru”. As long as she doesn’t faint.

Any and every thing Trump says will be challenged by the media, both during and after the debate.

So, to me the debate is not important. I know the media is going to declare her the winner as long as she doesn’t pass out.

All Trump has to do is be civil and keep on his point. Play himself as the outsider who wants to end the game of politics in Washington DC, and Hillary as the ultimate insider. People will see him acting reasonably and in the eyes of those watching, the winner or at least holding his own, but rest assured the media will tell us Clinton won and point out all the various places she did so.

Hillary supporters and the gullible will believe them, but we’re never going to get their vote.

I have been on Coumadin (Warfarin) for 4 years on a permanent basis, after my 2nd blood clot in 5 years. First doctor; no dark green leafy vegetables, no cranberries. (No cranberry sauce? Might as well cancel Thanksgiving...)

Switched doctors after I moved. No dark green leafy vegetables, no products including peanut oil, including peanuts. But, cranberries are okay.

And when you are on Warfarin/Coumadin, you need to get an INR at least once a month, so the doctor can monitor your levels. (either 2.0 to 3.0, OR 1.8 to 3.5 depending on who you talk to in the doctor's office.) If the test results fall outside the acceptable range; too high or too low, test again in 2 weeks, not 4 weeks.

I travel a lot for my employer, and the last several months my INR score was all over the board. So I talked to the Hematology expert on the doctor's staff about switching to another medication that does not require testing.

Net result; I am on a medication developed recently, instead of Warfarin (developed in the 1940's), and there is no special testing, and no food restrictions.

I do have to pay out of pocket for the new medication, whereas the Warfarin/Cumadin was no charge, and my Blue Cross Blue Shield plans pays a lot more. The expert I talked to before I switched indicated that the profession expects to get out of Coumadin in the next few years for blood clots, because there is too much overhead associated with it.

So why is Hillary on a medication that is being phased out ASAP? There is very limited advantage for Cumadin other than cost, since it has pretty much gone generic. And it requires diet restrictions and frequent testing. There is another reason Hillary is using that, because I refuse to believe that she is trying to save money with the generic.
