Words have meanings. Lets not be like the liberals and just make up definitions to suit out own agendas.

The word “terrorism” has had a specific meaning. Check any dictionary and you will see that terrorism means scaring people to achieve a POLITICAL goal. That is what ISIS is looking for.

When a scorned lover kills his ex and the strangers around her, it is still a profoundly evil act and it is not called “terrorism”. When you start calling that terrorism, then you dilute the true meaning of the word.

What the radical Islamic bombers and shooters are doing is performing acts of terrorism. What the jilted lover who shoots his ex and random people is doing is an equal evil that goes by different names. It is not accurate to call that terrorism.

Don’t confuse the two and don’t twist the meanings of words like the liberals do. Conservatives are better than that.

The information was preliminary. I didn’t say it was final. We will get all the facts in time.

I did not misread anything. I passed along a comment on twitter that neighbors reported that he had killed his ex-girlfriend and her grandmother. I didn’t make that up. I passed that comment along and even qualified it saying we don’t know yet. So don’t get snippy and shoot hte messenger.

I was passing along a comment posted on twitter attributed to neighbors who saw his picture as the shooter and they speculated he shot his ex-girlfriend and her grandmother.

What we now know is that he shot people at the Macy’s makeup counter, and in fact that is where his ex-girlfriend works, so their speculation was probably based on those now widely reported facts.

All I was doing was stating that not every mass shooting by a Muslim is going to be an act of political terrorism. In this case, it appears to be a jilted lover getting back at her and hatefully taking out everyone around her. Everybody was saying it had to be terrorism because the guy is a Muslim and it appears that is not the case.

I did not misread anything. I passed along a comment from twitter and even said it was preliminary and who knows? Quit being snippy.

Wow, you think Muslims are at the top of the Protected Class Pyramid, even more than transgenders???? I’m not sure. I saw the Emmys. Ain’t nothing in this life as angelic as the transgenders.... You play a transgender, you are just handed an Emmy automatically.

"The motive for the shooting that killed four women and a man remains unclear. Authorities said Cetin's ex-girlfriend used to work at the store but hasn't in several months and now lives in another county. KING 5 reported that Cetin was in possession of three guns Friday night. all legally purchased, but Cetin stole them from a family member. The weapon used Friday night was a .22 Ruger, according to law enforcement, KING 5 reported."

I agree. We should stick to the meanings of words. Here is the definition of “domestic terrorism” from 18 USC 2331:

The term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—
(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B) appear to be intended—
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
(C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.

Key words are “appearance of intent.” A single, mass murdering scumbag may or may not have the appearance of intent. I’d argue that his specific scumbag was looking to intimidate or coerce the female civilian population. A criminal gang almost certainly fits the definition above. Whether its prosecuted as such is the question.

The information so far http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/09/25/accused-seattle-shooter-loved-guns-and-serial-killers.html and his strange site http://arcanmotherrussiavodkaandak47.tumblr.com/

( = arcan mother russia vodka and ak47 ) indicates that he is a mentally disturbed person and not a typical terrorist.

“On Twitter, Cetin makes a few political comments, in one case mentioning that he intends to vote for Hillary Clinton, However, since Cetin is not a U.S. citizen, he would appear to have been making the comment in jest.”

Islamic terrorists love them some Hillary!

Sorry. You lose. You’re obfuscating and contorting to make a jilted lover issue sound like it fits this description. Trying to say it “intimidates the female pop” is as absurd as stating that white people not hiring a black person constitutes racism.

I’m glad to see the code gets it right.

And I’ve been griping about this for years. Since 9/11 we’ve been calling about every act “terrorism”, dumbing it down just like other words. By this absurd theory, every common criminal murder or battery is “terrosism”.

In that photo he can be mistaken for a Mexican or Central/South American. But Arcan Cetin is definitely a Turkish name. Recent conflict and tensions between Turkey & Russia in the media maybe further reinforced his reported fascination or obsession with Russia.

Can’t say he is clinically “mentally disturbed”; I’d say it’s probably more a case of thinking what he was doing was ‘cool’ - ie, socially & culturally accepted. Not a political terrorist, but more a juvenile delinquent. In a different social & political climate, say in the 1970s or 80s, he would have been part of a gang - special emphasis on his reported track record of harassing women.

You’re very welcome. I heard he was arraigned today and that he has acknowledged he did it. The authorities say they still don’t know why. I’m hoping this doesn’t drop off the radar.

In May of 2016, he even received a mental evaluation that found he had anxiety, depression, ADHD and would benefit from substance abuse programs because of his issues with alcohol and marijuana.

But this person was a terrorist:

The sad reality is that for months the public has been told lies about what motivated Omar Mateen. Mentally unwell he may have been, but he saw himself with clarity as an ISIS fighter in America. Being not right in the head does not prevent you from being a jihadist – in fact, as any seasoned counterterrorism professional will tell you, a high percentage of self-styled jihadists in the West clearly have something very wrong with them. They are angry, unbalanced, and most often socially isolated. In jihadism, usually learned online, they find justification for their violent fantasies.

This realization ought to give fresh perspective whenever a Muslim goes on a killing spree in America. The media and our government want the public to avoid making obvious connections, and these willful misdirections, which have become Federal policy under President Obama, merit skepticism and more.

Donald Trump has put the issue of Muslim immigration on the table, albeit in his usual somewhat confusing fashion. Nevertheless, this is a debate Americans must have, and it must be pursued honestly, without euphemisms or evasions. Jihadism is not going away.

“The media and our government want the public to avoid making obvious connections,”

The MSM, and social media have been helping ISIS with publicity. From beheadings, to burning people alive, to slavery, and so on. And, ISIS are very savvy marketers. It has created a climate where those who are, one way or another, emotionally and/or mentally unhinged jump on the ISIS bandwagon, and the rest live in fear and paranoia. In modern history, not even the Mafia has had this advantage and luxury.
