The Los Angeles Police Commission wants LAPD police officers to run away when a suspect confronts them with a weapon, warns the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the labor union of the citys police officers.
The organization posted a blog post critical of the commissions recent decision to find that fault lay upon an LAPD officer who used deadly force when a female suspect, Norma Guzman, came at him and his partner swinging a large knife.
The key facts in this case are not in dispute. A female suspect, armed with an 8 to 9-inch knife, charged at officers, repeatedly ignored commands to stop, and was recorded yelling shoot me as she swung her knife from side to side, the LAPPL Board of Directors wrote in a blog post.

If you know a company where maybe 30 people could never show up for work and get paid for years, while partying in the park with beers and gals, I’d like to know the name so i could work there!!
i’ve worked for YUGE investment banks. they’re not letting 40 people get checks for nothing.
And in truth, the numbers that are in one way or another crooked, at least a little, probably 10k out of 35k, maybe a lttle more
The cops have a much tougher job, they are duty bound not to flee a threat but confront and neutralize the threat. They are the good guys.
“ive worked for YUGE investment banks. theyre not letting 40 people get checks for nothing.”

I worked for one of the old telephone companies.
They always promoted the “do nothing” employees.
.
Bump, thanks!
Liberals won’t be happy until they’ve managed to completely abolish metropolitan police forces altogether.
In their place, I suppose the can have rapid response community outreach negotiators, who will go out equipped with bags of cash, EBT cards, housing vouchers, medical marijuana, and free tickets to major entertainment events.
Sheesh...
Unfortunately our criminal justice system believes in 2nd, 3rd, and even more chances.
If a perp is known to be a repeat felon I like the 'disappearing' angle.
They didn’t promote them, but they gave the SAME PAY to people who did my exact job except they were on the phone or internet all day, some to bosnia and russia!!!!
But one worthless one got to go to classes before me!!
it was seniority investment banks are terrified of lawsuits.
then when i was trying to be a trader, it distracting me too much from my job for a month or so. I woke up and apologized to co workers and that was that.
but I HATED seeing people do nothing!! i dont know why. i was getting paid the same either way.
why do you think we get mad?
“Will this work for traffic stops?”
This might not be a bad idea. Then, EVERYONE WILL BUY A GUN. Po-po trying to stick you with a $400 ticket for going seven over the limit? Point the gun out the window and tell ‘em you gave at the office.
We will find out if an armed society really is a polite society. My guess is that the survivors will be very polite.
When you get a blue light behind you pull over then draw a picture of a gun real fast and show it to the officer. He should then run away. That is the lesson taught in public school so it should be good enough for the police.
So what happens when the police run from an armed suspect and that suspect turns on helpless civilians and kills them instead? I know liberals don’t care about consequences like this, but the rest of us do.
You’re absolutely right. I was young in those days and maybe missed the whole message...time to revisit it. Thanks,
sjb
LAPD has largely become a social worker force to coddle bums.
That very item was brought up by the police union rep.
I'm sure the police "commission" sat there with dumbfounded looks on their faces.
here in L.A, the only thing the cops are good at is going to Starbucks and giving you a traffic ticket. Other than that, I have no clue what they’re good for.
They want cops to be UNARMED and only the perps to be armed, that is the progressive agenda
I'd be fine with that, so long as every law-abiding citizen was armed. It worked well enough, in it's day.
By this time, all those on foot had arrived at the scene where the motor car had crashed, and Constable Bond borrowed a small revolver from a member of the crowd and discharged four shots at the fleeing Lepidus and Helfeld, but all missed.
[...]
Constable Eagles armed himself with a borrowed civilian pistol, climbed a ladder placed at the back of the cottage and opened a bedroom window.
[...]
And as they’re running away, what if the armed suspect kills some innocent people or takes them hostage?
The people running LA are mentally ill.
Eventually, the criminals will be the ones running the city. Think of the worst parts of Beirut or modern Syria, and you have a picture of what Low Angeles will become.
I live in LA and trust me its already become that I dont think we can go any lower
