Trump accepts Cruz endorsement after saying he wouldn't

Donald Trump on Friday accepted Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) endorsement, despite promising in July not to.

After Cruz was booed at the Republican National Convention for refusing to endorse Trump, the GOP presidential nominee tore into his formal rival.

Trump predicted at the time that Cruz would eventually endorse, but said that “if he gives it, I will not accept it.”

"He'll come and endorse in the next little while because he has no choice. … I don't want his endorsement. Ted, stay home, relax, enjoy yourself."

But when Cruz’s endorsement came Friday in the form of a lengthy Facebook post, Trump accepted it with open arms.

"I am greatly honored by the endorsement of Senator Cruz. We have fought the battle and he was a tough and brilliant opponent," the businessman said in a statement released by his campaign.

"I look forward to working with him for many years to come in order to make America great again."

Too little too late ??? I started out bigtime for Cruz. Various factors modified that. Find it interesting that this “endorsement” comes just a day or two following Priebus’ statement that non endorsers will not get funds/supports from GOP in future. Ted you could have been so good had you not sold out to Globalism, Soros, PACS. I unfortunately no longer trust you or Heidi

Wither? I am 76 years old and I have not ever voted for a democrat yet and I am not going to this time. Neither will I stay home. You need to stop guessing what someone who you have never spoken to before will do.

Haha! Most likely you’re right. Who could have foreseen Priebus playing hardball?

Still, it’s all coming together. Pretty soon, Hillary will be shouting, “Why am I not fifty points behind?”

Or maybe, simply, “Why AM I fifty points behind?”

Well God luv ya. I’m sure you will understand that I took a bit of offense to you, whoever you are, addressing me, “shut up idiot”. You ain’t old enough to talk to me like that, yet. Besides, we ain’t been properly introduced. It’s one thing to tell someone to “shut up”. It’s something else again to call them an idiot. What sort of an idiot do you suppose would actually believe that Lyin Ted was seriously implicated in the JFK assassination? Hmmmmm? Idiot?

Seriously implicated? Nobody would believe it. How old is Ted was he even born then? You made a stupid comment and I called you on it.

Glad you think so. Although another way to look at it is that you were stupid enough to believe that I actually believed my comment. Who could be that stupid?

I think that the analysis centered on which of the two candidates are worse for America, and there is no question as to which is worse. Trump will fight and wants to win. As it stands Cruz has no influence with the upcoming Trump White House. With time and as they find common ground he may.

(Did you see? A great pumpkin design!)
