Where to get a good cheesesteak in downtown, then? Going there next week.

My fave: John’s Roast Pork 14 E. Snyder
http://www.johnsroastpork.com/

Only open until 7 PM. Sharp Provolone with fried onions. Yum!
The pork sandwiches are incredible too.

My vote would be Jim’s on South Street. (South Street is it’s own little world and destination.)

Another place you might want to consider (if you're open to venturing out of the South Philly or the Center City areas of the city), is "Dalessandro's Steaks" in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.

They have great steaks and hoagies, and you might want to try their pizza steak, their cheese steak hoagie, or just a cheese steak with fried onions -- all great!

Here's their web site -- scroll down for short video there.

Dalessandro’s on Henry Ave. Chubby’s across the street is good too. Remember...(provolone, American or wiz) cheese wit or witout (onions).

You gotta try Rim Cafe after you get your cheesesteak.
