Cruz supporters alarmed by possible Trump endorsement
Washington Examiner ^ | September 22, 2016 | By DAVID M. DRUCKER

Ted Cruz supporters were alarmed Wednesday at suggestions that he was on the verge of endorsing Donald Trump.

They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter — and goodwill earned among many through his stubborn refusal to back his party's nominee — if he caves with nothing to show for it.

Cruz has held out on the grounds that Trump is insufficiently conservative, and because Trump attacked his wife and father down the stretch of their heated battle for the Republican nomination.

The senator even took the extraordinary step of declining to endorse Trump during a televised, prime time speech delivered from the stage of the New York businessman's own nominating convention.

“if it isn’t already too late.”

For me it is too late. Jeb, Kasich, Cruz & Levin have done everything in their power to pull Trump down. If Cruz endorses now, it will be because of his next election, not support for Trump. Too little, too late.

#NeverTrump owns every bit of the contempt we hold towards them.

Cruz can endorse Trump but he’ll always be suspect.

When you self-immolate like Cruz did at the convention,
you may survive but the scars will never go away.

I WAS a Ted Cruz supporter, but he lost me with his non endorsement of Trump at the convention. An endorsement now means NOTHING to me.....

You are the one that picked a fight for no reason. You showed your smart ass mouth first. Obvioiusly, I was worth your time, because you wrote a snarky ass remark, that made no sense.

From the negative comments from fellow students at both colleges he went to, then one sees a similar pattern in the Senate with what are supposed to be professional relationships, and; then these connections you pointed out. I can see why folks who voted for him the first time have concerns. This Dominionism and then “the anointed one” sure made me tune him out period.

i think we all vote our conscience, so no one can truly take it over...

more ted supporters are for trump than not... and ted is not the devil trump supporters make of him.

hillary, though, is the devil she is known to be and in less than 50 days will be even more devilish.

yea Alberta’s Child, 2020, that’s the ticket!

Cruz can run for Prime Minister of Canada.

He is an NBC of Canada, not the USA.

Born in Alberta, Canada. (sounds familiar, eh? )

Both parents were Canadian voters = Canadian citizens.

I bet the endorsement will happen. Not full-throated but enough to urge his supporters to get out and get Trump elected.

***************

Didn’t the Cruz relinquish his Canadain citizenship sometime back? Was his mother
ever a Canadain citizen? I know his father was but haven’t seen info documenting his mother.

Doubt their idiot-Trudeau will be done with his tour de destrucion by 2020.

Eleanor was registered to vote in Canada and was approved for the Provincial Alberta voting list. Residents and foreign nationals are ineligible to vote in Canada. They were Canadians.

They have hid this and obscured the answer since asked when the Dallas News revealed that Cruz was still a Canadian.

Eleanor’s “fast-pass” to Canadian citizenship is likely the most compelling reason that Rafael took an interest in her and deserted his Texas-American family. He needed an out. There’s plenty of oil & gas in Texas, ya know.

There are a lot more Cruz supporters that dislike Trump than Trump supporters that dislike Cruz. Not on this board but in reality.

Well with a little luck we’ll not be bothered with Cruz for a couple of
Presidential elections. Then the NBC battle can begin again.

If Cruz had an ounce of brains, street smarts, and common sense...

Therein lies the problem - another supposedly intellectual giant demonstrates before our lying eyes to be a genuine ignoramus.

Well educated maybe - brilliant like he was advertised - no way.

What is a ‘Cruz supporter’ at this point, anyway? Perhaps in the past they followed

I can't imagine that Ted Cruz is unaware of the very substantial and justified criticism coming at him.

He is just a big cry baby. In stature and as in reality looks small and foolish.

Cough it up already Teddy and say "Trump is it!" yeah baby yeah!

I’m not really certain how many people in the voting public are going to follow Cruz off his cliff. It shocks the Hell out of me that anyone who considers themselves as some kind of conservative would want to allow Hillary to win this. I actually like Trump and voted for him, thought he’s by far the best person for the job since February. At one point I would have voted for only three on the original debate stage, but I’d still vote for any of those losers versus Hillary, in spite of my not liking any of them. She’s really bad, will simply fulfill and finalize the destruction brought to us by the bamster. Anyone who doesn’t see that is truly moronic and short sighted. Something really bad happened when Cruz supporters became Cruzers, it somehow made them all a bit insane. I saw this link down thread here with lots of former FR posters on it, just take a look, they have become genuinely nuts; maybe they always were: http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,226251.msg1063564/topicseen.html#msg1063564

Cruz is toast if he doesn’t endorse Trump.

He will be the single most important cause for any loss to Hillary Clinton. His shenanigans with the English language to demonize Trump and misrepresent him have been picked up by everyone.

An endorsement now means NOTHING to me.....

You're from Texas so your opinion matters. Are you not going to vote for Cruz for Senator? Are you still going to support Cornyn with his abysmal voting record?

You didn't need his endorsement to love Trump anyway did you? I'm surprised at how many people on this thread care.

“There are a lot more Cruz supporters that dislike Trump than Trump supporters that dislike Cruz. “

No, there is not. Cruz burned many bridges and pissed off a lot of Americans. Those that claim they will not vote for Trump are nothing more than Hillary supporters and always were.
