Donald Trump is up 5 points nationally over Hillary Clinton in a four-way race, a Thursday poll from right-leaning Rasmussen found.
It's the Republican nominee's largest lead in the poll since mid-July.
In the poll that also includes Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein, Trump holds a 44% to 39% advantage over Clinton.
It's an improvement from his 2-point lead in the four-way poll last week, and a much larger improvement from his 4-point deficit in early September.
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters between September 20 and 21. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
On Wednesday, the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that Clinton, the Democratic nominee, was up 6 points over Trump in the same four-way race. As of Thursday morning, the former secretary of state held a 1.1-point lead over Trump in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

I’m sure Hitlery’s health will be cited again when Trump completely obliterates her in the debate. It’s no secret that Hitlery holds a press conference as often as she talks to a regular constituent because she can’t think on her feet. She was horrible 20 years ago and that isn’t something that ages like wine.

The difference here is not subtle. For some reason, people who complain incessantly about "the rich" and "the one-percenters" always overlook those wealthy people in entertainment and in sports. Nobody cares that some Hollywood dipsh!t lives in a castle, flies around in a private jet, and has no dealings with minorities other than their fellow entertainers and the guy who delivers UPS packages to the movie studio. But for some reason these 90-IQ voters seem to get all bothered over a successful business owner who works hard and employs a lot of people.
Just saw some polls on CNN, Clinton leading nationally, small leads or tied in battleground states...pure BS!
The DNC has an electoral map of the United States down to the precinct level. And I also believe their own internal poling is good and accurate. They know exactly where they stand, and exactly what they need to get to 270 electoral votes.
Knowing this, they know exactly which precincts have to produce the exact results they need to get the right combination of states to get to 270. The machines will be pre-programmed to show those results. There used to be a “margin of fraud” but not any more. The DNC knows their propaganda arm, the media, will cover it up by not reporting on any electoral “irregularities.” They don’t have to try to hide it because it will simply be ignored.
If the Republic falls in the forest, and the media doesn’t let you hear it....
That is because many Trump supporters are not revealing their preference because the leftists have become so nasty at the mere mention of Trump's name. So, the everybody that would possibly consider voting for Hillary is counted in her "ceiling" number; and only those who are fearless are counted in Trump's "floor" number.
A lot of people are content to wait for the privacy of the polling booth to make their choice known. And they will overwhelmingly vote for Trump.
I can only speak of the one democrat among my friends and she IS for Johnson.
Being up in the national polls is a good sign.
But winning the popular vote at the national level doesn’t guarantee a Hillary defeat.
Pulling ahead in the swing states is what counts.
And it has to be a wide enough margin to overcome the democrat vote fraud.
Remember - Critical precincts sometimes see democrat voter turnout well over 100% of the entire number of registered voters.
I am not burned out as much as pissed/incredulous.
Anyone watching with a few neurons that work and enough objectivity to use critical thinking knows there is no way Hillary is up in the polls. Even if you give her every benefit of the doubt best case scenario is dead heat at the moment national with Trump just shy of taking the lead in the EC vote count.
That is if you give every benefit of the doubt to Hillary.
Any poll showing her gaining momentum of any sort is a lie. Hillary is in manage the decline mode and has been since day one. She has never had an ounce of momentum in this race. She “peaked” in late July/early August because trump let himself get off message and stalled his momentum with that Kahn nonsense... Since Mid asugust he’s been back on track and growing his momentum.
In the mean time Hillary has hard even more evidence of lies and corruption leak.. Called her opponents supporters deplorables and had a full on neurological failure on film which she lied about.. The only positive think she’s managed to hold a rally without collapsing or having her eyes go wobbly.
Meanwhile nothing has happened to negatively impact Trump... So we are to believ just not falling over is enough to swing states 6 or 8 points in some cases, or some national polls 5 points or more her way? It’s flat out nonsense and insulting.
The woman who has no organic support ANYWHERE, zero enthusiasm, no inate retail politicking ability... Miraculously has something she hadn’t had in the entire election cycle... Momentum, just because she didn’t flop around on the floor like a fish?

It’s INSULTING, I am not worried I know Trump has a solid lead and the EC lead at this point as well.. So I don’t get anxious when I see this sort of thing, I get angry.
Poll watchers. You can be one for your party, or you can be independant, but independants can’t go inside and must stay xxx yards from the polling place.
Inside poll watchers count voters and count provisionals. Outside poll watchers can count people going in only really.
I like what Dennis Miller said: “The closer the race is, the greater DEMS are going to win by”.

The MSM wasn’t describing Rasmussen as “right leaning” when it was showing larger leads for Clinton (12 points after the Democratic Convention) than many of the other polls. Now that Rasmussen has picked up on the Trump surge they can be dismissed by the MSM as a fringe poll.
Why is the WSJ poll showing Hillary up nationally? That’s the one I have seen all over the news today.
Pay no attention to the national polls. Pay close attention to battle ground state polls like Ohio.
