A Republican-led House committee voted on Thursday to hold in contempt of Congress a former State Department employee who helped set up Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's private email server. The employee's lawyer accused the panel of a "naked political agenda."

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee approved the contempt resolution on a 19-15 party-line vote. The resolution states that Bryan Pagliano, the computer specialist tasked with establishing Clinton's server while she was secretary of state, did not comply with two subpoenas ordering him to appear before the panel.

Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, the panel's senior Democrat, bemoaned the spectacle, calling it "a blatantly partisan Republican attack on the Democratic candidate for president

And the AG will say to Congress: “I don’t care. Go screw yourselves.” And the Repubs will wet their pants. And that will be just one more Repub failure.

The normal court response is to issue an arrest warrant for a subpoena violation. Will that happen to him?

Congress is not your normal court, and doesn’t have the same arrest powers as a real Judge in a real court, as far as I know.

I read that the Sergeant at Arms has arrest powers, and Congress has some sort of holding cell, but that this hasn’t been used for 80 years.

Holder gave Congress the finger, and they didn’t do a thing.

Toothless gesture, since the Justice Department won’t enforce it.

Yes, technically they could have the sergeant-at-arms go arrest him, but when is the last time they ever actually did that?

If a power is never used, it’s effectively not a power anymore.

What i wish to know is why Comey gave him immunity if Comey was going to subvert the case against criminal clinton anyway? You don’t give immunity to the trigger man in a murder prosecution. You wouldn’t find a single independent prosecution ever giving this actor immunity . This cover up is one of the greatest acts of corruption in history. But there is great news. It totally pissed off Americans.

I hope the committee votes to investigate whether Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md) has a brain. It wouldn’t cost much (about 5 cents) and won’t take much time (about 3 seconds - just shine a flashlight in his ear and watch the light come out the other side).

Cummings two favor letters of the alphabet, like his head, are “MT”.

“Hopefully this contempt charge will negate any amnesty agreement given by the FBI. I hope this guy stays in jail a long time.”

Nope- This one’s immunity agreement is definitely with the justice department. You can look that up.

Pagliano’s Immunity was granted by the justice department. This was the one that caused all the commotion causing the justice department to “Stand-down” and give the FBI investigation(Already in the bag)priority.

How does Elijah Cummings get onto every one of these panels to make a spectacle of himself shielding one corrupt behavior after another of every type by Democrats? Is this guy some kind of defense lawyer? Why wasn’t he part of the OJ defense team?
