NFL Ratings Drop Faster Than Colin Kaepernick Hearing ‘The Star Spangled Banner’
Breitbart ^ | SEPTEMBER 21, 2016 | DANIEL J. FLYNN

Posted on 09/21/2016 7:06:55 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The NFL sees its ratings going down faster than Colin Kaepernick after hearing “O say can you see.”

The Eagles-Bears ratings declined by double digits from last year’s Week Two Monday Night Football contest and represents the lowest number since the franchise moved from ABC to ESPN. The NFL experienced drops, albeit smaller ones, for the Sunday slate, too.

But the elephant in the room—actually three Dolphins, a Bronco, and two 49ers—continue to be the competitors in America’s Game insulting America’s song. Fans do not watch because of a quarterback who does not play. No one likes uninvited guests coming into their living room to insult them.

Talking heads and NFL spin doctors do not care to own up to this. But Colin Kaepernick becoming the face of the NFL actually does more to harm the league’s bottom line than Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, or Aaron Hernandez did by dominating news cycles. The criminal behavior of a small percentage of football players occurs away from the stadium. Colin Kaepernick’s perfectly legal protest happens on an NFL field in an NFL uniform on NFL broadcasts.

America is a free country. A multimillionaire remains free to kneel during the national anthem. Joe Six Pack remains free to turn off the television.

I’m sure I speak for the entire FR hockey thread when I say, all of you all should be tuning in to the World Cup of Hockey these days! You want to see teams respect anthems, play AMAZING sport and get their asses kicked. Sadly the US team has been (technically) eliminated, but Canada is going strong with lots of our NHL players, a joy to watch this hockey, and there is a North American team made up of NHL studs from both countries, every one of them 23 and under. What a phenomenal young team. Tune in today / tonight. Any protests are direct and immediate and part of the actual game. :)

It used to be a fun and relaxing way to decompress on a Sunday afternoon. No longer.

ESPN has been bleeding viewers/subscribers for years with their liberal crap. No surprise here.

However, the other alphabet networks are also down in number of eyeballs watching the NFL.

Expect Kaepernick to claim being kidnapped with racial slurs painted, in cursive, on his body.

Oh, wait. No one would be able to read the slurs on his body for all the dumbass tattoos.

Have you ever watched Australian Rules Football? That’s intense play, right there.

The NFL has been spreading to London in recent years and there has been talk of a permanent team there. I’m thinking they’re all wrong. The NFL should look to Iran or maybe Afghanistan, seeing many of their players and networks (ESPN)attitudes would mesh perfectly over there.

I used to enjoy high school football games. Now, you have to endure gay teens embracing and French kissing all over the place. Along with slut-dressed, foul-mouthed girls and wanna be hip hop, foul-mouthed boys. Nope.

The Peoples Republic of the NFL will not react until their advertisers and corporate overlords begin to grumble about earnings that can be tied to NFL advertising. NFL fans who also happen to be Americans should be boycotting every company advertising on NFL programming. Not just the products advertised, everything sold by the parent company. E.g. Bud Lite is heavily advertised. Switch brewers completely to a brand who’s parent doesn’t advertise with the NFL.

There are few on this board who will understand your post, I certainly do. Champ car racing was near it’s zenith when Tony George and his ego decided he was a lot smarter than he really was. He came very close to destroying it by himself. They are now a shadow of their former self.

It was not a good game. The Bears look like a really bad team.

The encouraging thing was that only 3 idiots on the Philly Eagles protested, while 70,000 people booed them.

I watch for the concussions.

Since the vaunted Concussion Doctor apparently actually BELIEVES that Hillary was poisoned by Trump and Putin, the NFL should place no stock in anything else he has to say.

Well would ya look at that.

Generally speaking, we know that few boycotts succeed. Usually because they tend to be haphazard and poorly organized, but mostly because people don’t participate.

So often with these things my response is, “I can’t boycott what I don’t patronize”. I haven’t bothered with an nfl game in many years now - and see zero reason to ever tune in again.

Let them eat Ho-Ho’s.

The women in the household are watching Dancing with the Stars.

The female version of the NFL morons.

Be interesting to see if the Eagles do that stupid fist raise when they play the Steelers in Philly next week.Maybe Harrison will break their legs if they do.

The cool players in the NFL have hard time self policing the jerks. Each game is too important, and the modern penalty system and slo-mo replay with a million camera angles means that it might really impact wins and losses. That’s why you have swishy celebration dances and chest slapping displays, the cool players can’t make the jerks stop that nonsense.

Good. The NFL has become too political.

NFL too big for its breeches. Ban em if they can’t show some respect for the Nation, Flag and the American Way—Return to a real patriots game—BASEBALL. (Note: Donald Trump played baseball in College—I bet he could throw a ball well).

I no longer watch Sunday night football because Bob Costas thinks it’s his job to tell me his ignorant opinion regarding firearms. No, thanks. My girl and I made Sunday into movie night.
