It was private industry that faked a lot of the background investigations a few years ago. It was the government side who let all the data out the door and didn’t tell the victims for a year and a half. No one was ever really held responsible in either case, which is the larger problem.
I joked that my interview was a lot shorter than that of most of my colleagues (some of theirs ran 2 hours, I think I was in and out in under 15 minutes) because the feds had good files on me going back to my college days and they were just going through the motions. Or perhaps I just have a dull life.
“Because in your world, it makes sense to have a crony capitalist with a database of CIA agents.”

“LOL. Riiiiiiight....”
Did he work for anyone else other than the Clinton’s?
Same thing here. Have copies of my SF86s going back to my initial investigation when I enlisted in the Marine Corps. Last one was basically a short telephone interview followed by a drop in visit by the contract investigator. Ten-fifteen minutes total?
Who vetted Snowden again?

Yeah - constrain government to its declared purpose: TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS; instead of turning it into a retirement plan for crony parasites.
OK, stop right there. I'm not seeing better performance ahead.
Officials promise the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) will be a much different organization than its predecessor, the Federal Investigative Services. It will have a politically appointed director
NBIB got a new director in September 2016...Charles S. Phalen
