“I’m wondering if Trump should drop a hint that he will be encouraging the Congress to impeach certain federal district courts.”

There you go, venturing out of the box; exactly where Trump has been all along. One can only imagine how effectively he will wield the bully pulpit.

She looks somber---like she knows she's attending her own funeral.
I'm guessing her team told her to quit the smiling routine.
She's running for president not for a gig as a stand-up comic.

One of those cameras found this hand-scrawled draft fund-raising letter on the sidewalk:

“Let me get right to the point. The campaign is in financial trouble and we need your help. I have exceeded my annual health care coverage and must cover all additional health costs out of pocket. As you I travel with two doctors, two lab technicians, an ambulance and ten pairs of blue sunglasses.

In addition my doctors are blackmailing me. They told me if I don’t pay them an additional $250,000 per day they are going to “blow the whistle” on me—something about “non compos mentus”. Look, I don’t understand that fancy Medical talk but I know when they start talking in Latin it is bad.

Anyway, I told Huma we could raise a million dollars a day. Hopefully she remembered to turn off her cell phone when I said that.

Also, we need your help with a new campaign slogan. Focus groups indicate that pictures of me gasping for breath and fainting in front of “stronger together” signs is sending out the message that I am a liar. So, please add your suggestions with your check. The largest check received will determine which slogan we will use.

Love, (and campaign slogan to be determined)

Hillary”

;-)

No president is going to put an ex president’s wife in prison.

The situation is even worse than that. It is commonly, and probably correctly, said that the density and complexity of our laws is such that all of us are probably in violation of multiple statutes on a routine basis. Transfer the same principle to the presidency, add in the growth of sweeping and unconstitutional executive actions, the elasticity of legal definitions in our modern courts, and the growing popularity of standards retroactively developed and applied ....

The reality is that every former president and most of his cabinet members could probably be jailed for something, if his successor wanted to play the game that way.

Routine prosecutions of former heads of state, once normalized, will mean a speedy end to the orderly and peaceful transfer of power. It's end of the Republic stuff.

But at the same time, a culture of immunity for former heads of state licenses ever-greater abuse of power by those in office.

We are in a deep downward spiral. I don't know how we can pull out. We could, in principle, elect a president who understands the problem and is committed to constitutional self-restraint -- Ted Cruz used to talk this way, back in ancient times -- but whether he could reform the political culture is another question. The rot is now institutionalized in sweeping delegations of power to unaccountable federal agencies and in an activist judiciary that is committed to results and contemptuous of limits.

Your last paragraph is horrifying but true.

The fact that this will be a close one shows that the sheople, many of them, dont care as long as they are provided for.

They dont know what usually comes next.

People Just. Don't. Like. Hillary. Period.

But she has completely taken over the Democrat Party (al la the DNC) so they HAVE to do what she says.

Or Else.

Obamba won't pardon Hillary.

He has eyes like as we do and can see its not worth the damage it will do to his legacy to pardon someone who looks like they are going to be dead in 6 months.

At this point she done so many stupid things and she is becoming less and less a threat with each hour she isn't on the campaign trail.

George H.W. Bush will defy party to vote for Hillary: report

Former President George H.W. Bush is bucking his party's presidential nominee and plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, - according to Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy.

Bush, 92, had intended to stay silent on the White House race between Clinton and Donald Trump, a sign in and of itself of his distaste for the GOP nominee.

“Game over.”

Of course, I hope and pray you are correct. What HRC does have going for her is the fraud advantage. We freepers have to keep praying hard every day. Also, if anyone out there knows of any way to combat election fraud — I have no clue — do it! You can bet the Dems are going to spend mucho dinero behind the scenes trying to buy this election for HRC.

No matter how good the polls look for Trump — in fact, the better the polls look for trump — the Clintons will break any law, pay any bribe to get HRC into the White House. Don't forget that for a second, freepers!

“I'm guessing her team told her to quit the smiling routine.”

I don't think that is what is going on. I don't like HRC, but I'll concede she is marginally more likable when she smiles than when she scowls. Since reappearing after recovering from pneumonia, HRC has been particularly unsmiling and lethargic. I suspect that she is taking steroids and antihistamines to keep from coughing. However, she's zonked out on them...and it shows. Even a few Dems have publicly urged her to “smile more”. I don't think her current demeanor is an act in an attempt to seem presidential; I think it's the best she can do in light of the fact that she doesn't usually have much stamina, and she's still recovering from pneumonia. Her campaign schedule is very light between now and the first debate, almost certainly because she can't afford to relapse.
