Priebus Warns Kasich, Bush, Cruz – RNC May Block Future Runs for Lying, Refusing to Support Trump

RNC chief Reince Priebus threatened John Kasich, Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush today on “Face the Nation” after their refusal to endorse record-setting GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Priebus said the RNC may block future runs by the Republican candidates who used tools from the RNC, then lied and refused to endorse the GOP presidential nominee.

Bush, Kasich and Cruz have yet to endorse Donald Trump.

The pro-Hillary website Redstate reported:

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus during an appearance on Sunday’s edition CBS’ “Face the Nation,” said that it’s time for Donald Trump’s former primary challengers to support his campaign. Priebus even suggested there could be trouble for them in 2020 or 2024 if they don’t:

Those people need to get on board. And if they’re thinking they’re going to run again someday, I think that we’re going to evaluate the process – of the nomination process and I don’t think it’s going to be that easy for them.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush have still not yet endorsed Trump. And nobody really thinks they will.

When asked explicitly whether that meant there would be penalties for those 2016 Republican hopefuls who have not endorsed Trump if they run again in 2020 or 2024, Priebus said nothing has been decided but that it’s something the party will look at.

All 17 of the major Republican candidates signed a so-called “loyalty pledge” last summer stating that they would support the eventual Republican nominee “regardless of whom it is.” The pledge was the result of Trump suggesting that if the GOP didn’t play “fair” he might run as a third party.

Looks like the “genius” Cruz has managed to liken himself to Kasich and Jeb Bush - priceless!

*************

It will be interesting to see what Cruz decides to do with regards to the 2018 Senate
election. Will he run or go on to some other endeavor? He’s not noted for hanging
more than a few years in any one position.

I think the only salvage to his career is to go full Mormon and relocate to one of their strongholds for assured votes. He’s burned all his other bridges.

Bush, Kasich and Cruz have yet to endorse Donald Trump.

Out of the 3, only Cruz wants to run again and he hasn't figured out yet that he's now tainted, damaged goods.

Reince is going along with the flow, now that Trump win is quite likely. If it does not pan out, he will eat his words and extend olive branch to them as if nothing happened. A typical politician at work.

Reince has been in the Trump camp for awhile. Even when Ryan was still “I have not heard enough or made a decision yet”. He also traveled to Mexico with Trump. Trump can raise big $$ for the RNC. The two have formed an alliance on the common goal - Beat Hillary!

Sad the turncoats can’t grasp what is at stake.

I don’t know how he really rates in TX now as their senator. Someone may can
get in with statewide recognition that could knock him out. It will be interesting.

What part of LA are you in? I was born and raised in SW La. Been gone for many years now.

Even if they do endorse Trump, none of them has any chance at being the nominee the next time there is an open race on the Republican side (hopefully 2024).
