THIS WEEK (ABC): Kaine; Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Kaine; Christie.
Chris was right at home with Kaine and lets him ramble. Oh brother, Chris is upset that Trump wants to kill Harpy by disarming the SS. Fox is getting desperate.
Totally agree.
The contrast between her and Trump was very telling. F&F played the two sound bites back to back.
More Chris gotcha with the Birther issue. He should have complimented Trump on playing his buddies. Christie nails him.
ABC Radditz - Clinton cautious as ever (on bombing news) while Trump played it for campaign advantage. First question, "is it terrorism, are we getting too caught up on definitions?"
NBC on terrorism in general, any connection between NYC and Minnesota? Probably not coordinated attack. Duh.
NBC on Trump reporting the NYC incident as a bomb, vs Hillary's remarks hours later (wiser to wait for information before reaching conclusions). Todd says Trump is looking more like old Trump making unscripted remarks. Challenging Hillary starting the birther story. Chuk also asserting that rump suggested violence against Clinton with his recent disarm her bodyguards comment.
NBC on to Kaine. 1st Q on NYC, NY and Minnesota unrelated events, creates concern that terrorism is part of life, and what can a president do? Kaine says experience matters, Hillary was at 9/11, she is part of the national security team that got bin Laden. Key is having intelligence and strong alliances, e.g., NATO. Is this a new normal that Americans have to deal with? No.
ABC on Pence ... first Q must have been on birtherism. Pence wants to talk about issues. Radditz comes back to the bowl, why did it take Trump so long to say that Obama was born in the US? Pence starts to answer, Radditz interrupts, counting Trump tweets from 2011 to 2014 - Pence says there are reports that Hillary campaign was involved, Radditz interrupts again. Pence says this issue is not what the people are talking about. Trump didn't talk about it during the campaign., Pence understands why Hillary and her defenders in the press want to distract from Hillary's record. The people see through the distraction. Radditz says people are talking about birtherism. Do you think Trump should have promoted this in years gone by. Pence says we are focused on the future. Radditz asks again what is the proof that Hillary started it. Pence says look at McClatchy and others. Radditz says she disagrees. Pence says he understands the press intention to change the subject to birtherism.
Good responses by Pence. Radditz is a jerk. She is going to persist on the birtherism question. Trump is proud of tricking the press on Friday, should he be doing this? Pence laughs at Radditz. Says Trump brought out MOH recipients and endorsements, and the press covered it. That is important. He pivots to terrorism and strength of military.
Radditz pivots to Robert Gates OpEd. Pence says he has lots of respect for Gates, but Gates is wrong. Many retired military stand with Trump, who proposes to rebuild the military. Gates was part of the Obama admin withdrawal from Iraq, which was a disaster, no Status of Forces agreement, vacuum allowed ISIS to step in. Gates may not want to hear that, but it is true.
Radditz changes subject to Hillary's secret service detail should disarm, what dis he mean by that? Pence says that the suggestion is that Hillary would be more supportive of the 2nd amendment if she didn't have armed security. Radditz says, no, people think this was a threat. Pence says, all due respect, the press talks more about what Trump did in the last day than what Clinton did over years, Clinton Foundation, her health,m decades of dishonesty. Radditz gets defensive.

Christie gets a shot in on how the media loves the birther issue, but nobody is going to vote one way or another about it.
How did Monica Crowley get on the round table? Thought it was only for #NeverTrumpers like Rove.
Good news for Fox, it is over for Trump and these minor issues will carry the day for their candidate.
Trump surrogates are in for an endless array of questions about birtherism and “Why does Trump want Hillary dead” questions this morning. Tapper grilled Christie a few minutes ago. Disgusting POS. This is day three on CNN’s meltdown on Trump saying Clinton camp started the birther talk. The world coming apart at the seams, terror attacks all over the the United States and Jake Tapper wants to grill someone about Donald Trump and why he’s “saying now that Obama was born in America” and “why does he incite violence from his followers”.
I see fake “catholic” Kaine is on every talk show this morning. Instead of letting him spout off about how terrible Trump is why not ask him why he remains a “catholic” and believes in murdering the unborn and when exactly does he think the Catholic Church will sanction queer “marriages”. LOL.
Kellyanne Conway was incredible, the hippy was absolutely freaking out over being punked by Trump.

Kellyanne says the only people still obsessed with this issue is the press. Trump has moved on. NBC poll doesn't have this issue in the top 20 important issues in its own poll.
NBC says the Friday event was promoting the hotel - Chuk Todd ignores the MOH endorsements, totally, thinks the event was about the hotel. Kellyanne points out that the press is supposed to cover the candidate, not slander the candidate.
Chuk wonders if Trump really has changed his position, lists 10 issues that Chuk contends Trump has reversed on. Most of those contentions are false. Kellyanne says he was a private citizen, not a politician, and you are taking old remarks and conflating them with his campaign. Compare with Clinton, who has changed her position, being a politician the whole time.
Chuk wants a definitive explanation of how Trump will isolate his business from his presidency. Feed lost by NBC. I guess they did not want an answer. The insinuation by Chuk is that Trump will use the presidency to advance business interests that benefit his kids. FWIW, it is not possible for Trump to "wall off" this potential conflict. It is a gotcha question. People will either trust Trump to put his (children's) business "out of mind", or not.

The stark differences between the creepy, effeminate liar Kaine and the solid, conservative, Mid-Western Christian man Pence will be revealed to the dozen or so LIV’s who watch any of these shows.
Agree. Timmy does come off as less than manly.
And the press blames Trump for controlling the press reporting priorities.
Just remember, CNN and all the Sunday shows are comedy programs. Parody of news.
