Several emergency crews are at the scene of an incident at Marlborough Mall Saturday afternoon.
Reports suggest that an officer was attacked by a machete.
There is no word yet on what led to the incident or how many people were involved.
Calgary EMS spokesman Nate Pike says first responders were called to the Marlborough Mall in the city’s east end Saturday afternoon.
Pike says a Calgary police officer was taken to Foothills Hospital in what is described as stable, non life threatening condition with soft-tissue injuries.
He says a second patient was also taken to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.
Pike says he doesn’t believe the officer’s injuries were the result of a firearm.
Police could not immediately be reached for comment.

The woman who was filmed demanding a Mount Royal University student remove his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat has been subjected to hundreds of vile threats and disgusting messages since the video went viral.
“It’s over 200 now, I’ve stopped looking,” said Zoe Slusar.
“And somehow they got a hold of my parent’s phone number so they’ve been calling my parent’s house as well. I just can’t believe this has become the issue, that I deserve to die.”

I live 1.5 miles from Marlborough Mall and try to avoid it as much as possible. It is Mogadishu central, with a side of Damascus, for poor measure. You would be hard pressed to find a Caucasian clerk or customer in the Walmart or the entire mall. Can’t speak to the Sears store, the other anchor store, as I have not visited a Sears in 10 years. I prefer East Hills shops, brand new and not yet known by many new ‘Canadians’ (aka muhamedan settlers). East Hills is a little farther from my house but I do not feel like I am visiting deepest, darkest Africa or Asia, when shopping there!

The self-righteousness in which this is continually being done is becoming alarming.
I surprised any of these Africans make it through their first year. The coldest I’ve been in my life was one February in Calgary.

The past two winters have been very mild. This winter is supposed to make up for it, though. Maybe it’ll drive them back to Somalia and Syria, like the Mountain Pine Beetle!
Having grown up in the Ottawa Valley and having lived 25 years in Alberta, Calgary winters are a breeze and Edmonton winters are no worse than Ottawa Valley winters.
