Independent Evan McMullin eligible for write-in on Texas ballot

WASHINGTON — Independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin was certified Friday as a write-in candidate in Texas after fixing an eligibility hiccup that initially led the Texas secretary of state to deny his application.

...

In McMullin’s initial application, one of the 38 electors he submitted — Brittany Gilbert of Austin — was not a registered voter, said Alicia Pierce, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Carlos Cascos. As a result, Gilbert was not an eligible elector, and McMullin’s application was denied.

But Keith Ingram, the secretary of state’s director of elections, wrote in a letter to McMullin on Friday that a replacement elector was offered in a timely manner pursuant to the Texas election code. McMullin's name will now appear on the list of declared write-in candidates for president, Ingram wrote, and his votes will be counted in the state.

Never Trumpers appear to be the number one choice in Texas for folks who can't legally vote. At least the Mormons and liberal Jews in Texas will have someone to vote for. Wonder if Cruz will endorse him.

The rest of us have Trump.

Egg McMuffin won’t get enough votes to matter, which will make Bishop Romney very sad.

Not as sad as the Cheap Labor Express when Trump shuts them down, but Egg McMuffin was the best Bishop Romney could do.

Gary Johnson is on the ballot in all fifty states plus D.C. Why bother with Egg McMuffin here?

Because Milt Romley is desperate. There's something he's hiding, something that would hurt him if Trump gets into office and lets it come to light.

So he's got to come up with some dweeb like this McMullin character and prop him up as a "conservative" choice. Ridiculous on its face.

This is a pathetic joke. The guy is on the list of WRITE IN candidates for President. He won’t appear on the ballot itself, but if you want to show up and write his name in, you can. As if. 95% of voters won’t even know there is a write in list, let alone want to pick someone off of it. If he gets a thousand votes it’ll be a minor miracle.

Why does this even merit a story? Massive cuckservative FAIL.

Even I don’t know how to write in using the electronic tablets. Maybe a touchscreen keyboard appears?

What could motivate someone like Mitt Romney? Trump, a very high-profile celebrity went out of his way to not only endorse Mitt but give him some media attention at Trump Tower. And then Mitt stabbed Trump in the back and started this anti-Trump campaign early on for what reason? Trump hit back, but only because of Mitt’s vicious attacks. But you wonder, what the hell could have been so important to Romney in Trump’s early comments that sent Mitt off on this bizarre jihad? Guarding our borders? Not starting Mid-East wars? Trump’s criticism of clowns like McCain and Graham, who attacked Trump first.

Personally I could never imagine being critical of someone who went out of his or her way to endorse me and help me. Even if it were Hillary Clinton whom I disagree with 100% and loathe. I don’t think I could muster up Romney’s perfidy to make any critical remarks. But then again, Mitt’s perfidy among MA conservative Republicans, who Mitt stabbed in the back, is well known.

Romney has enough money to be comfortable the rest of his life. He earned it through shifting money and “creative destruction”. Fine, not something to be proud about, especially compared to Trump (not only in net worth but how it was made). But you’d think Romney would just go away and not risk tying himself (and by association, Mormonism) to a possible Hillary victory. These guys, Romney, Graham, Kristol, Beck, Erickson, et al., have no idea of the level of enmity they and their family and associates will face if Hillary pulls out a victory. This election is like no other. It’s all she wrote.

It’s not just Romney, it is the entire GOP establishment that will be exposed as having been responsible for the 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws that has resulted in 30 million illegal aliens.

****************************

The Cheap Labor Express.
The entire GOP establishment has been blocking the citizens from stopping the illegal alien inundation.
In every election since the last amnesty the GOP has nominated an amnesty candidate.
The two who won are largely responsible for the 30 million illegal aliens we have here.
There has been a 30 year bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws and they are not about to allow the citizens to reverse their population migration experiment.

Well, they did have trouble coming up with a full slate of electors, didn't they?

It won’t matter. Write-in voting has become tedious and time-wasting. With electronic voting, it is almost impossible for a write-in to get any serious traction.

I will say, though, that Trump probably is not embraced by conservative Texans as much as he has been embraced elsewhere. He’ll be welcome and supported as being a better choice than Hillary (and will win the state’s electoral votes) but I think they see he has waffled on genuine conservative positions and will be watched warily should he win the presidency.
