I would never knowingly vote for a Democrat. I may not vote for a Republican, but I would never vote for a Democrat. Why? Because, on Judgment Day when I stand before God and he asks me, Why did you vote for someone that believes in murdering My Creations while they are helpless in their mother’s womb? How will I answer Him?
I had heard about the endorsement but did not realize it was the first time for a 'Rat.
I'm under no illusion about where Koster's loyalties lie, but the recent veto override session gives me hope that the legislature can actually keep his big-spending habits in check. I rarely vote against someone, (current occupant of the White Hut excepted) but I will NEVER vote for that phony crook Greitens. NEVAH...!!
What happened was a massive number of democrats picked up Republican ballots in the primary and elected this "guy" as the repub nominee!
The dems who appear to support the 2nd Amendment are just posturing. The party allows them to appear to be 2nd amendment supporters so they can be elected in strong 2nd amendment districts. However, if the dems ever get close to passing some sort of gun ban, they will call in all the chits of those so-called 2nd amendment supporters in order to pass it, and this will get in line. This is what happened with so-called pro-life dems when Pelosi needed every vote she could scrape up to pass Obamacare.
There are no authentic dems who support gun rights.
Yes. Chris cox got to brag about having endorsed the winner. YAY! for Chris Cox. < spit >
It helped get a lying gun-control freak elected to the US Senate. Bottom line.
NRA issuing endorsements when both candidates appear to deserve an A rating is stupid and evil. Endorsing the anti-gun democRAT Party is stupid and evil. We didn't get Constitutional Carry (for example) by getting the democRATs to support our position. We got it by kicking their sorry asses out of the legislature and overriding the democRAT Governor's veto.
NRA is not "playing chess". They're playing Russian Roulette with 5 chambers loaded.
Here we go again.
We had two good candidates in Bunner and Kinder but we end up with the choice of a turd sandwich or a cup of goat piss.
Rediculous that we had so many candidates and open primaries.
I suspect there was crossover Dems voting in our primary.
Can we give St. Louis to Illinois?
“Do not fret about this. This is exactly what the NRA should do. So long as Democrats understand that the NRA will support them if they defend the second amendment, Democrats are more willing to defend the second amendment.”
I don’t mind state-level endorsements of Democrats (if they are superior, of course), but when you get to the Senate, there’s a lot more at play there. For example, even if Manchin did stay pro-gun, how would he vote on judges or treaties. All it takes is one ruling from the Supreme Court holding gun manufacturers liable for shootings and it’s adios to the gun industry. Or one other ruling stating that the Second Amendment only applies to militias...
That’s why party should count, at least at the US Senate level. At lower levels, even in the US House, the damage that the one person on left can do is much more limited.
So for the Senate, Dems should ALSO have to demonstrate that they will buck their party on issues pertinent, but not immediately affecting, gun control, such as judges. And clearly no Democrat Senator meets that standard today, and the last ones that I can remember that probably did were Zell Miller and Richard Shelby (before he became a Republican).
I have been a life time gun owner and user. I will never join the NRA as long as they endorse Democrats.
This is a weird year in Missouri.
The democratic candidate once was a republican.
The republican candidate is suspected of being a democrat.
And in the race for Senate, the democratic candidate reassembled an AR 15 while exposing his gun grabbing beliefs
--he "grew" in office---check out his change in attitude toward illegal immigration , also---
--the NRA has to work in the real world of Washington, DC, not some fantasy where we sturdy yoemen hold off invading UN troops at the left bank of the Mississippi----
why would a man be demo is the question.
koster,(rob redfords twin bro) remember the name, next dim. prez
With Koster as Governor we have no hope of passing Right to Work legislation in Missouri. Greitens favors RTW.
Read and interesting thing the other day. Article stated there are no Democrat State Legislators south of I-70 corridor (Stl./KC excluded) except one District (132) in Springfield. A veritable sea of Republicanism!
“When both parties compete to support the Second Amendment, Constitutional government wins.”
Sorry, but you can’t ignore the “whole package,” and the NRA’s support radical RATs makes it impossible for me to maintain my membership.
Well said.
This reminds me of last year on FR when someone asked me who I would vote for if the election came down to Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton and I replied that I’d vote for the candidate who admitted to being a Democrat.
Bottom line for me is I vote the Constitution and I vote for my country. I have no loyalty to any political party.
