I’m trying to figure out whether she is happy to have Clinton share her embarrassment at sharing such private, personal information; or whether she is finally realizing that she is defined by sharing a bit too much personal information on the internet. The girl is an ignoramus....calling HSV 1 an STD is ridiculous. HSV 1 is a cold sore virus and is most typically spread by sneezing, sharing cups, and kisses (as in grandma kissing a baby). Unlike HSV 2, it isn’t transmitted primarily by sexual intercourse. Non-STD herpes viruses include the viruses for chicken pox and shingles. BTW, I’ve seen estimates that up to 90% of us were exposed to HSV 1 by about age 6. In any event, I think the inclusion of HSV 1 is intended to “shame” people without STDs into “accepting” real STDs as “normal” and not “stigma worthy”.
“HSV-1 is the more prevalent virus, with 65% of persons in the United States having antibodies to HSV-1 (Xu et al., 2002). The epidemiology in Europe is similar, with at least half of the population seropositive for HSV-1.
