Donald Trump received a very succinct message Wednesday during a speech in Flint, Michigan: focus on the water crisis, not Hillary Clinton.
Trump toured the Flint water plant earlier in the day before delivering brief remarks at the Bethel United Methodist Church.
<...snip>
The churchs pastor, the Rev. Faith Green Timmons, came on stage and abruptly told Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what weve done in Flint, not give a political speech.
Without missing a beat, Trump responded, OK. Thats good. Then Im going back to Flint, OK?
Trump finished his remarks and left the church.

Isn’t there some rule or something against Reverends not being arrogant assholes?
Trump thanked the good Rev. for his time and left.
If Hillary wanted to make a political speech, ah - that’s different - she’s a Democrat.
Got it.
I invited you here to thank us for what weve done in Flint
Trump is supposed to thank the Flint-stoners for having one of the biggest crime-ridden ghettos in the mid-west and poisoning their citizens?
What the heck does that mean? Who does that sort of thing? “Invited you to thank us.” Adding my “huh?”
Messed up minister of a messed up denomination in a messed up city.
In one paragraph explain Lydia, Deborah, Rahab and Priscilla in light of your comment. Thank you.
Is Trump a plumber or a politician? I think this pastor is confused.
He could have used Mark Levin’s line: thank me!
Rev. Fried Green Tomatoes wasn’t none too happy today.
Well hey! As soon as I saw she’s an amish turned methodist I understood. That’s what the A in AME stands for, isn’t it? Amish?
Only kidding.
When one is blindsided with no warning his response isn't bad. When one is not appreciated then one should go to the edge of town and shake the dust from their shoes and go on about ones business where it is appreciated.
What plant in the Trump campaign sent him to a leftist, denomination church?
No, not bad.
one should go to the edge of town and shake the dust from his shoes
I agree, but that's not the way campaigns work. As Aaron Burr said about "running" as opposed to "standing" for president, "To be honest, it's rather draining."
I guess he thought politics were not off limits, after watching what EVERY DEMOCRAT SAYS IN SPEECHES GIVEN IN CHURCHES. But that’s ok, he filed it and then went about his business. Good on him.
She was very rude and should have let him speak. I am sure she would allow Hillary to speak and say whatever she wishes.
Ugh. Methodists?
She would let Hillary talk politics. Damn hedge priest. What do expect from a female methodist minister?
