I personally have my doubts about claims of food scarcity. I realize it does occur, but I am fairly confident it is rare in the US. Or the issue has more to do with irresponsible but well-fed parents neglecting their kids.
On the other hand, I have personally witnessed young women brag about using their sexuality to dupe rich guys into buying expensive dinners for them.

Well kinda. My wife wondered why I made her move to a cul-de-sac full of liberal, anti-gun, Mormons.
When the ballon goes up, I'll have all the food and slave labor I'll need;).
Don't forget toilet paper....great barter currency for housewives in a mild "crash" or disruption. Booze for the men so they can "escape" from the nagging wives as the collapse slowly rolls over them.
