I happened to see about 5 minutes of O’Reilly last night and he and some guy were discussing the electoral vote. They both said that Hitlery has 273 firmly in her corner - over the 270 needed to win.
It made me think the whole thing was for naught. Is the electoral vote rigged like the delegate vote was for Bernie? I couldn’t believe that Trump doesn’t stand a chance because it’s already pretty much decided.
It the 273 could be reduced by five, with NM giving Johnson so many votes that it allows Trump to win the Enchanted Ones, who wouldn’t be happy at that outcome.
From the few times I've "encountered" you on FR you've struck me as being one who follows US politics pretty closely and has a pretty good understanding of it (far better than my understanding of Canadian politics).
But it's hard for me,at least,to see how the Electoral Vote itself can be "rigged".Voting in individual states surely can....I can tell you a story about my state (Massachusetts) that would make your head explode!
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "battleground states"...*they* are the keys to this election.Virginia,Ohio,North Carolina,Florida and even,some say,Pennsylvania.Even New Hampshire,with a mere 4 Electoral Votes,is considered battleground.Hillary is running ads like crazy on Boston TV and radio not because Massachusetts is in play (that'll be the day!) but because the most heavily populated portion of New Hampshire uses Boston stations.

These fools are all making statements and taking positions BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS. Trump has turned over the apple cart, and the lack of enthusiasm for Hillary combined with the growing momentum of Trump including more minorities and democrats crossing party lines is placing this election in a whole new territory.

Yeah, well the same "smart people" were telling us back in April that Trump had no path to the nomination. There was NO WAY he could possibly get the 1237 delegates needed. They did the same thing back then, with all their charts and maps and "experts."
Remember, they were 100% SURE back in April that Trump would not win the nomination on the first ballot and that the GOP would then be able to insert somebody more establishment. There were many here during that time that lost faith and threw up their hands in defeat.
Let's not fall for that again.

I live in NY- they THINK NY and CA are firmly in their pocket- but i have not seen one single hilLIARy sign anywhere and I see hundreds of Trump signs.
If NYCity pulls it off for Trump, then that will fuel the movement to seperate NY into two states: NY and Western NY.- and I wish the voters in CA would do the same think and chop that state into half (or 3)

Last night the state of the race was defined as Clinton ahead in the electoral count, but only by a smidgeon and Trump surging.
Several new states were put into the toss-up category.
I think Trump is looking very good right now.

Check out the electoral map at realclearpolitics.com. It gives a much better picture of the race than whoever that bozo was. It basically just averages poll results and separates states into safe, likely or leans toward a candidate or into the tossup category. The EV numbers show Clinton ahead with about 200 vs 150, but the important thing to remember is that tossup states are not counted in that total.
Another consideration is that tossup state results tend to be nonrandom. Usually one candidate or the other tends to win more of the tossups depending on how the opinion of the electorate shifts. Just as an example, it’s hard to envision Trump winning Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin but losing in North Carolina since that first group tends to lean much more liberal than NC.
Given that, it’s really still a tossup election overall. RCP does include older state polls so it tends to lag behind current trends. An overall tossup will likely move more into Trump being ahead if current polling trends continue.
These talking heads have been wrong since Trump started running in 6/15.
I don’t listen to them anymore since they have zero credibility with me.
I would hate when Trump is on O’Reilly and Big O spends the time lecturing Trump on how to campaign. Ugh!
