From the few times I've "encountered" you on FR you've struck me as being one who follows US politics pretty closely and has a pretty good understanding of it (far better than my understanding of Canadian politics).
But it's hard for me,at least,to see how the Electoral Vote itself can be "rigged".Voting in individual states surely can....I can tell you a story about my state (Massachusetts) that would make your head explode!
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "battleground states"...*they* are the keys to this election.Virginia,Ohio,North Carolina,Florida and even,some say,Pennsylvania.Even New Hampshire,with a mere 4 Electoral Votes,is considered battleground.Hillary is running ads like crazy on Boston TV and radio not because Massachusetts is in play (that'll be the day!) but because the most heavily populated portion of New Hampshire uses Boston stations.
Is it mandatory that the electoral votes reflect the popular vote of each state? Can the vote be cast other than what the people decide?
