The NCAA has now joined the NBA and other organizations pulling its official events out of the state of North Carolina due to concern over the state's House Bill 2. Emphasizing an "inclusive atmosphere for all college athletes, coaches, administrators and fans," the NCAA announced it would be pulling seven championships from the state, including a site for the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

"Fairness is about more than the opportunity to participate in college sports, or even compete for championships," said Mark Emmert, NCAA president said in a statement. "We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at our events and are committed to providing the best experience possible for college athletes, fans and everyone taking part in our championships."

We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at sporting events and the best experience possible ... for college athletes, fans, perverts and drag queens!

I hope everyone is as eager to shut the NCAA down as they are the NFL.

This is horrific. Should be boycotted.

This should be illegal. All tax payers support the NCAA, there is no acceptable reason why the NCAA should discriminate against a group of tax payers.

They should relocated it to Chicago, where instead of being inconvenienced by having to use the bathroom that matches one’s biological gender, they can just get shot by gangbangers and bleed out in the street instead.

If the lefties had wanted to focus more hateful attention upon people suffering from perversions, they probably could not have tried much harder than this. But it needed the right as well to complete the devil’s frame.

The left, by coaxing them on further and further, of course; the right by reacting blindly to the increase in the visibility of the public nuisances.

I speak in these terms to illuminate the biggest picture: that humanity has been played against God by Satan. However God has a more gracious and wise answer than politically “right” and yet still fallen people do. It is an answer that incurs the infallible guidance of the Holy Spirit to say, in both word and deed, “we will love you, but yet not the terrible ideas you are embroiled in.”

Without this answer, echoing from the cross of Christ, all we can really hope to do on either side is to bat sins back and forth without a true remedy.

It would be a shame if they lost their tax-exempt status...

I am so sick of the commie POS and what he has done to our country. People who love this country should seriously boycott the news media and the sports and entertainment industries and their advertisers. We’ve got to stop this madness.

Agreed. NC has been the hotbed of college basketball for decades. Dumping on NC is not just stupid politically, it’s a bad business move.

Somehow our politicians need to stop selling out to the first drama queen (small or large q) to come down the pike. If this seems ridiculous, we probably have seen nuthin yet.

It is time for the NCAA to disband. Sports and politics are a very bad mix. Let the fans decide. In the longer run the NCAA action will not result in a positive outcome for them.

Meanwhile, the NCAA reinstates Penn State’s scholarships and Joe Paterno’s 111 wins while his coaching staff and the university knew of Jerry Sandusky bringing children in the locker room showers to have sex with them. How is that “safe and respectable’’, NCAA?? You have condoned Sandusky’s behavior and Paterno’s and Penn State’s handling of it.

The Atty Gen of NC should open up a corruption investigation of the NCAA if they want to play that way. It’s not like it isn’t an easy case to make.

well if they insist on doing this it better be for men's and womens events...all of them...

not only that, but they better get somebody to move the Charlotte Hornets to another state....

perhaps go so far as to deny scholarships to kids from North Carolina...

probably, its a follow the money scenario....somebody wants these events for the money so they slipped a tidy sum under the door of the committee...

He can’t do that for a couple reasons:

1] he agrees with them.
2] He’s running for governor.

Yes, restraint of trade and perhaps a violation of equal protection.

What is next, are the other “states” going to start not allowing those from NC to drive legally on their licenses??
