Just the everyday senior moments or something worse? I’m asking because it’s happened to me several times a few months back ... I mentioned it to my doctor who asked me what I had forgotten and I told him... he laughed and said ‘if you can remember what you forgot you’re fine’... Still, it feels odd.
No, I don’t think so, of course not. I’m not a doctor, and it’s too little information in any event.
I’m slightly sensitized to the issue because a high school classmate passed away a few years ago as a result of “early-onset Alzheimer’s.” She was 58.
She wrote a book about her experiences with help from family members; one thing that stuck with me was that she reported that the first inkling she had that something wasn’t right occurred when she attempted to use an escalator. When she looked down at her feet to judge the right moment to step on, she found she couldn’t make sense of what she was seeing.
Her disease progressed rapidly.
That has haunted me. I look for small deficits in mental function.
Forgetting where you left your car keys is normal.
Forgetting what they are FOR, is not.
I just turned 70, and often find myself searching for the name of things, as well as famous peoples name. Except Trump!!!
As someone once wrote:
Of all the things Ive lost I miss my mind the most.

I’m 71, same here.
The reason is ‘cuz she thinks Trup is spoiling her coronation. How dare he rain on her parade. He should have been a lapdog just like Bernie was.
There’s an old joke which at the moment I can’t recall in totality but the punchline is “you is who you is”. She is who she is and that’s what America will see in the debates. And she will likely hoark up a lung.
Fifty eight’s too young to die.
Thanks for sharing - the escalator story was especially chilling and the best example I’ve heard so far about Alzheimers from the patients perspective.
