Sources tell News10NBC that Assemblyman Bill Nojay has committed suicide.
Officers were called to the Riverside Cemetery on Lake Avenue around 9:20 Friday morning for reports of shots fired. Sources say Nojay, 59, was found dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The New York Daily News reports Nojay was at his family burial plot.
Investigator Frank Camp says officers saw a man shoot himself. At this time investigators are not making a connection to Bill Nojay. The investigation is ongoing.
We're told Nojay was supposed to turn himself in on Friday for fraud charges. According to a report from the Khmer Times of Cambodia, he and three others convinced a woman to invest in a company that would send rice to the U.S. The woman claims that eight months after sending her investment she learned the company was bankrupt.

Bill was my friend, close ally with our fights, worked with us on Trumps win in the primary. He was supposed to be at my event last night.
I heard this news early, called him, texted him to no avail. I was just hoping and praying this was not true. Sad loss of a good friend.
Hopefully Cuomo won’t trump (no pun intended) up charges against him, too.

I listen to Fred Dicker most every day and Fred had Bill Nojay on a lot. He was a fearless fighter against Prince Andrew and the deep corruption of Albany. I am shocked, but then, again, with these charges and the political landscape in Gnu Yak, he didn’t have a freaking chance.

A call went out to Bill by his lawyer as to where he was, apparently Bill was despondent and at the cemetery by his brothers and parents graves.A 911 call went out and the police showed up at 9:20 went to approach him and he shot himself.
He had trouble brewing with some Cambodia deal and latest was a supposed theft of a million from a school rehab project.
Senator Cathy Young R Jamestown did a robo call that went out against Bill, I have heard this call upset him even more. I want to hear the call and have feelers out looking for it. Young is a backstabbing establishment Bit%%!
He had a fundraiser tomorrow, Carl Paladino was going, a big gun giveaway.
Primary this Tuesday.
Was it all too much for him? Only God knows.
How much truth to the charges is what I am curious about.
Was he ashamed to face his supporters after being named in felony charges?
Me, Bill, Carl, DiPietro, Dadey and a few others worked to put together the whole NY state Trump team. We spoke 3 or 4 times a week. And we won!
We were gathering to do the same for the general election. I will miss Bill and have a hole in my heart right now.
Nojay had a very informative, yet light-hearted radio program. He was a staunch conservative. He provided a great public service unearthing and publicizing the goings on in Albany. He has been interviewing the four candidates for the Republican primary for our State Senate seat. I hope the show somehow continues with his sidekicks, but his absence will leave a large hole. He could have weathered the repercussions of his fraud charge. It’s so sad he chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
