Justice Dept. Granted Immunity to Specialist Who Deleted Hillary Clinton’s Emails
New York Times ^ | Sept 8,2016 | By ADAM GOLDMAN and MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

A computer specialist who deleted Hillary Clinton’s emails despite orders from Congress to preserve them was given immunity by the Justice Department during its investigation into her personal email account, according to a law enforcement official and others briefed on the investigation.

Republicans have called for the department to investigate the deletions, but the immunity deal with the specialist, Paul Combetta, makes it unlikely that the request will go far. Representative Jason Chaffetz of Utah, the top Republican on the House oversight committee, asked the Justice Department on Tuesday to investigate whether Mrs. Clinton, her lawyers or the specialist obstructed justice when the emails were deleted in March 2015.

“Uh, maybe I am missing something here, but isn’t the purpose of granting immunity to someone is to ensure that they spill their guts testifying against a bigger fish - not to shut them up?”

I’m sure he answered every question they asked him.

You cannot grant immunity for acts against the state or treason from the U.S. Congress.

His grant of immunity would require truthfulness and cooperation too, or the immunity would be void.

I would not want to be him.

Not anymore. Now it’s a grant of impunity.

The “Justus Department” granted him immunity for only ONE REASON. Clintoon told them to. Clintoon needs to be in prison. She’s the most dangerous politician and thief in America.

Yeah. Normally. In this case however, he doesn’t have to be completely honest and will never be prosecuted if he tells a little white lie or doesn’t remember or had no criminal intent.

But if he wasn't honest, wouldn't that be cause to revoke the immunity & prosecute him? (Obviously, I'm not a lawyer.)

And Cheryl Mills pleaded the 5th to every question asked of her, too. God forbid anyone in this inner circle be held accountable for a gd thing!!!!

I’ll be so happy to see this cater slammed shut after this nightmarish past 8 years. A president Trump will not be issuing pardons. Get out the big broom, housecleaning is coming.

Kind of curious to have all these immunity deals for the IT folks. Almost implies they knew they were engaged in criminal activity.

Ask around DC, David Kendall does as he wants, Blumenthal does want he wants, Patrick Kennedy chooses which agents that will be involved.

If everyone got Hillary's justice, there would be no need for the FBI. Just assume the best intentions from everyone and shut it down.

Remember, everyone on TV was absolute 100% Law and Order when it came to Scooter Libby. The fact he had nothing to do with anything didn't mean a thing. The law was our friend, they told us.

Why would they grant immunity and get nothing in return? This stinks.

Maybe Mr. Combetta is out partying with the Orlando shooter's wife.

BTW, do a Google IMAGE search for ‘Paul Combetta’ and see what you come up with: NOTHING.

computer specialist who deleted Hillary Clinton’s emails despite orders from Congress to preserve them was given immunity by the Justice Department

The [in]Justice Department cannot grant immunity from an order of Congress.

The story says this Platt River Network guy KNEW of the order of Congress, and went "against the guidance given by both Clinton’s and Platte River’s attorneys to retain all data in compliance with a congressional preservation request.”

This seems like a slam-dunk case for jail time, and Congress should be bounced out on its ass if that does NOT HAPPEN!!!
How much time behind bars can Congress award to him?

With no rule of law, we have no country, only tyranny.

If someone was granted immunity for their testimony, can Congress reverse it? If yes, do you have a cite for that?
