A 15-year-old boy was discovered with the weapon at the Brooklyn School for Career Development on Clermont Avenue in Clinton Hill about 9:45 a.m., officials said.

"First day, first gun," Floyd said. "Why would de Blasio want to remove scanners form schools? It's crazy."

Perhaps he just wanted to go out a rob a store after school without having to go all the way home first.

“Brooklyn School for Career Development”

Oh that’s just the newest whitewash scheme by public schools.

They give failing schools these fancy names to make them seem like upscale and serious institutions of learning. They are still the same crap schools underneath with the same problems.

The youth was probably eager for his first day of his ‘Dindonuffin 101’ class.

Why would de Blasio want to remove scanners form schools?

Because he is either a destroyer or an idiot.

Given the school, the weapon may be a prerequisite for survival between home and school.

My grandfather lived a few miles from this school (on Atlantic Ave) and raised 9 kids from the 20s through the 40s. The neighborhood was never "great," but when we'd visit him (50s - 60s) we never questioned our safety.
I've been by there a couple of times in the 2000s and it's like a different country now. Oh, except for the White Castle two blocks away. Yum.
