Matt Lauer’s Pathetic Interview of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Is the Scariest Thing (trunc)

Full title:

"Matt Lauer’s Pathetic Interview of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Is the Scariest Thing I’ve Seen in This Campaign"

I had not taken seriously the possibility that Donald Trump could win the presidency until I saw Matt Lauer host an hour-long interview with the two major party candidates. Lauer’s performance was not merely a failure, it was horrifying and shocking. The shock, for me, was the realization that most Americans inhabit a very different news environment than professional journalists. I not only consume a lot of news, since it’s my job, I also tend to focus on elite print news sources. Most voters, and all the more so undecided voters, subsist on a news diet supplied by the likes of Matt Lauer. And the reality transmitted to them from Lauer matches the reality of the polls, which is a world in which Clinton and Trump are equivalently flawed.

Scott Adams [Dilbert] is calling them “orange rollers”. LOL!

How dare the hoi polloi think differently than their betters in the media?

Also, a weird underlying admission that the people are uninformed, and that's just fine, because journos like him made them so; they believe what he tells them to believe. Apparently Matt Lauer didn't control the information properly.

Elitist scum

-- Maybe so but she couldn't deliver without being bitter and angry....she did more damage to herself. --

I agree. Her performance stunk. The press is trying to help her burn out the issue, and she doesn't take the cues.

Poor Jonathan (alumnus of Journolist).

It appears from the article that Donald Trump is a scary poopyhead and that Lauer is an apostate or something.

Getting awful crowded on the lefty fainting couch.

Trump fan here. I didn’t think this way his best performance. He rambled at times, botched the I’m smarter than the Generals issue, talked about polls when there was no need to, and let Lauer bash him on his love for Putin. He was much better in the speech the morning before this.

Lauer gets paid $14,000 an hour to subtly "mess up" people like Trump.

Couric was getting paid $7500 an hour to "eff up" Palin in 2008.

Who are these professional journalists this writer speaks of? Anyone who belonged to the shilling Journolist cabal who colluded on questions and daily talking points were unprofessional JINOs (Journalists in name only).

Neither turned in a breakthrough performance. Trump’s was probably better, but not significantly.

Too bad Hunter S. Thompson blew his brains out. Hillary could’ve used a drinking partner who could keep up with her on the campaign trail.

I think this was the moment she recovered from a coughing attack. “Ah, she’s gonna be OK.”

I find that Pickles is SO corrupt that they seem to try to defect some of that evil on Trump saying they are both flawed etc.

But it does not hold water.

On the Iraq war I have always heard Trump say he was against it. Now if they are using that example as Trump lying.......its ridiculously mild compared to cankles is it not?

Absurd!!

Lauer is repugnant! His connection to the Clinton Foundation should have excluded him.

Unfortunately, this morning, the Dems released a previously un-released e-mail that showed Powell having actually advise her to that effect.

Wow. I read a bunch of the comments. Those guys are completely in a bubble and believe all their own lies.

Just a few: Hillary did a wonderful job as Secretary of State. Example: Libya!

Hillary’s private email server did not not endanger National Security. Reason: The FBI did not ask for her to be Indicted!

Hillary has a great record of Secretary of State, because she has flown around the world so much promoting the rights of women and LGBT! (no mention of the Clinton Foundation scandal, Haiti corruption, pay to play, millions in contribution from states that treat women as property and execute homosexuals.)

Trump is corrupt because he gave some Republican candidates campaign contributions. They claim the contributions were illegal, but there have never been any charges.

But Hillarys numerous contribution for pay to play while Secretary of State, and Bill’s millions from a private university who got money from the State Department.. nothing.

It is worth reading because there really is a complete split in the country.

If your news universe consists of the old dominant main stream media, Trump is a delusional fool, and Hillary is an incredibly competent saint.

If your news universe includes the new media, Trump is a sucessful businessman who broke through the glass ceiling of leftist media, and Hillary is a criminal sociopath.

Which universe has more voters? We will find out in November.

“I thought Lauer did a great job.”

Great job at what? Being combative with Trump while letting Cankles go on & on & on? Puleeze.

Vote Trump 2016

"Lauer did not press Trump on his claim that the president of the United States behaves in a fundamentally similar way to a dictator who imprisons and kills political critics and journalists."

Those who have been targeted by the IRS, BATFE, or Bureau of Land Management and by other Obama minions of might disagree with this delicate snowflake's dismissal of the parallel.
