Donald Trump, according to a new poll, is down just three points on Hillary Clinton in the traditionally-reliable Democratic state of Rhode Island, a state Barack Obama won by 27 points in 2012.
A poll released Wednesday from Bostons Emerson College shows Clinton at 44 percent, Trump at 41 percent, Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson at 8.4 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 3.5 percent.
...
The college polled the presidential race in six New England states and New Jersey. The results show Clinton ahead in all seven states, though the contests are tight in Rhode Island, New Jersey and New Hampshire.

Mostly people are used to not really having much of a choice. During the primaries RI Republican turnout was up 118% while Dem turnout was down 36%. Also Trump seemed to be popular in RI while I was working there.

It’s looking up there past the Volvo line:)
Excellent point!
That’s good news. I worked in Shelton CT a few years ago. More recently I was working in Woonsocket RI and Trump appeared popular there too. The NE isn’t nearly as liberal as some think and sometimes I think people just don’t take the Presidential race seriously because its been a forgone conclusion for so long.
Dems have lost the moderate white Voter... Which means they are losing New England. They may tend liberal but they are hard working honest folks, they won’t vote for someone who is corrupt and believes the laws don’t apply to them.
There aren’t large minority populations in New England for her to leverage she has to win white voters to win New England, particularly the smaller less populated states... And she can’t do it. Obama’s alienated too much of the white working class voter.
What, no trans-males, trans-females, or trans-trans-males?
What a racist poll
We have 1 million here. Same as Montana; twice that of Wyoming ( 500 K)
All dems except me and a handful but anecdotally Trump is ahead.
I’m in MA and saw my first bumper sticker yesterday——and it was for Trump.
.
Well it was painted here by Gilbert Stuart, saved by Dolley Madison during the War of 1812 when it was at the WH and I believe it is still at the WH...
That said, the economy throughout the NE states has been hit VERY hard. A lot of people are suffering here. That Donald Trump is doing as well as he is in New England is a testament to him as a man of integrity and the plans and HOPE that he is offering to all Americans.
Trump is a huge nightmare for the establishment. He isn’t a social conservative. He’s a pragmatic moderate, who is conservative on guns, terrorism, and immigration; the issues that matter most. He’s a populist on trade. They can’t attack him with the ease that most Republicans are routinely trashed.
He is fighting the good fight.
Wow that’s awesome!!!!
Romney was pulling in crowds after the RNC convention when he had the whole RNC apparatus behind him.
Trump has been packing them in since day one.
I think the issue demogogs face is that they can’t cheat everywhere.
The have a machine in Philly, Chicago and Detroit but if they are not setup to cheat in NJ or then they may have a problem. I some “Deep Blue” States they’ve never really needed to cheat.
The last place I lived in the US was West Long Branch NJ. I hope my home state goes Trump
There's a homemade sign a guy has out there for weeks on the Mass Pike near Upton pulling for Trump.
In Danbury, CT there's a guy making plywood Trump for President signs and planting them in his front yard in the middle of a section that reliably posts (D) candidate signs.
Something BIG is happening, and I am seeing it in CT and MA. Trump signs are all over Southern, NH - few Hillary signs by contrast.
In reliably liberal Vista, NY bordering New Canaan, CT -- only a few Trump signs - no Hillary.
FReegards!
Being retired my prime driving area is Walpole.Norwood,Dedham,Westwood,Needham,Waltham, and Newton.
Zero yard signs and just that one Trump bumper sticker that I mentioned earlier.
Strangest election run-up ever.
